  • The Rake And The Recluse : REDUX on Feb. 24, 2013

I quite liked this book. The plot was interesting and, apart from the time travel aspect, believable. A gal from the present finds herself in the body of an 1880 ancestor whom she resembles and feels connected to. The time period is well represented and it is fun to experience the heroine's adjustment to Victorian attitudes. I particularly appreciate that mundane details such as who what and where were introduced within the interesting plot instead of appearing as boring lists. The love story was quite believable and moved at a reasonable pace. I read this book all the way through in one sitting. It is an excellent historical romance and well done time travel novel. I cared about the characters and will probably read the book again. The pictures were not vital to understanding the novel, but added a nice ambiance to the whole book.

Loved the book, read it in one day. The love story quite believable. The pacing was decent. The characters were well done. I liked that the "bad guys" had good as well as bad aspects. The erotic content made sense in the context of the story and was well done. The only issues I had with the book were the poor editing and that a duke would find it easy to fall in love with and marry a servant. I look forward to reading more of this author's work.
  • Seduced at Sunset on April 08, 2013

A very satisfying romance, well balanced pace, pretty believable plot, characters you care about, just the right amount of passion. Even the ending was well done. The price was rather high for a novella, but I was glad I bought it.

  • Grays Hill on April 09, 2013

I really enjoyed this book and stayed up half the night reading it. I got teary eyed a number of times. The heroine was a bit too perfect and I didn't really believe she, as a peeress, would have been treated quite so shabbily by the hero at that time in England. But that is minor. The characters are vivid and easy to care for. The plot is original, at least to me. In the end I felt quite satisfied with the entire story. I look forward to reading more by this author.
  • A Red Crystal Romance: #1 Emma on April 14, 2013

Enjoyed the story very much. Needs a good editor. Writing not particularly good but the original story made up for it. Decent pace, read in one day. I liked the characters so it was easy to like the love story. The "bad guys" were all black, no gray, not well drawn. Should be labelled erotic. I hope the author continues to develop and refine her skills.
  • Black Magic - A Time Travel Romance on May 19, 2013

Enjoyed the romance of a hero who does not feel he needs love and a heroine who never had time for it. The time travel was interesting and the shaman magic was decent in that the shaman was not all knowing. The love story showed growth of both people. But the heroine had one near death after another due to her stupidity and pride. And the hero's inabiliy to think about his feelings was just as stupid. Still, the passion felt real, the other characters were well realized and engaging. Overall an enjoyable read.
  • Lord Jasper's Angel on May 28, 2013

I really liked this book. Two eccentric families , H & h, meet and interact. Insanity is assumed due to events misunderstood. Many funny moments and really weird moments. Love among the families, friends, and well developed between H/h. The dialog can be confusing at first, but if you are patient you will enjoy a unique story.
  • Captive Hearts on June 03, 2013

Well written, well paced Captive hearts is one of the best Historical Romances I’ve read in a long time. An in depth story tantalizingly revealed page by page it includes betrayal, mystery, suspense and romantic love. Believable characters beset by circumstances beyond their control, the hero and heroine enter into a forced marriage. Supported by his family they must learn to work as a team as they attempt to untangle the circumstances of their betrayals including the mystery of the heroine’s family murders. As trust develops passion and romantic love become possible and lead to true love. The end of the novel is quite satisfying as all questions are answered and the evil ones are given their just due. This book I will definitely read again.
  • Anything For Love on June 05, 2013

Loved the book. Interesting, includes an historical sense of the period, believable romance, tender and passionate love scenes, well drawn characters and excellent writing. I read until done.
  • Siren's Song - A Time Travel Romance on June 13, 2013

A dandy time travel Romance with snappy dialog and interesting characters. There are a couple of neat plot twists not expected enhancing the same old sibling robbed by other sibling plot. The passion is pretty hot though rare. The developing love is tender and sweet though the heroine becomes quite irritating in the last third. I enjoyed reading this twice though I did not like the strange editing mistakes such as the hero receiving a sword cut on his left arm then waking up with his right arm bandaged. Nevertheless it is an enjoyable historical romance.
  • An Unexpected Encounter ( Half Moon House, Novella 1) on Sep. 10, 2013

What a darling novella! Well written, feels authentic, plot is familiar yet interesting and new. The love story is sweet and the end is tied up satisfyingly well. The story is dense and never falters throughout. I particularly loved the compassionate all knowing benefactor watching in the background. Well done Ms. Marlowe!
