Very entertaining read, and well suited to the ebook format. This was my first return to the sci-fi/fantasy genre since I was a young man 20 years ago,and it was thoroughly enjoyable. I might have passed it up if it hadn't been free, but now I am hooked, and going to buy Rainy Daze. Thanks Dan, for relighting the spark!

Wow, this is the first book I have read from this author, but it surely won't be the last. A perfect example of "don't judge a book by it's cover" I had low expectations when I got the sample, based on the cover, and some of the other things I had DL in the "apocalyptic genre" but this book is genuinely good, every bit as engaging, and well written as a Dan Brown, or Dean Koontz novel. Great story, realistic people you can relate to and become emotionally attached to, and a fast paced, "keep you reading" type of plot. KUDOS to you Stephan, you have a new fan!

I haven't finished this one yet, but so far (half way through) it is every bit as good as the previous entries. I was surprised that Alice was only briefly involved with the last book, I am very glad to see her getting more time here. Anyhow, thanks for the great reading material Randolph, I am looking forward to the rest of the series, shame I'll probably finish these before the latest arrives in june(ish)
