  • The Dark Gifts Birthright on Oct. 18, 2012

OK so I started this series off by reading Afterlife and it was great! And then I was gifted Birthright to read and i thought how AWESOME!! Also I thought I knew kind of what I was getting myself into when starting this book because of my previous read. That was not the case I was looking for Angie, Micheal, William ANYBODY from Afterlife when I picked up this book. I found myself lost in the beginning and had to will myself through I frequently lost concentration and just couldn't focus any attention on what I was reading. So by now you are wondering why I gave Birthright a 4 star review ;) Well here goes, after I got through the first 3 or so chapters the story itself opened up there is a war about to break out between the vampires and all that they have lived by for so long is being challenged and over turned. Oh! And Angie, William and Micheal DO return you just have to be patient unlike I was. Liz is the new girl to this story and she has ALOT to learn if she is going to take on the roll the stars have aligned for her. I could keep going on why you SHOULD read this book but I don't want to spoil anything. All I can say is don't be too quick to judge a new book you pick up it might end up being a GREAT read after you make it in a few chapters. Happy Reading :-)
  • The Dark Gifts Inheritance on Oct. 21, 2012

This book was gifted to me and it was nothing short of amazing! Willow Cross' ability to meld different characters into to her books just wows me. Inheritance started out being NOTHING like Birthright this book revolved around Werewolves and had a whole new set of characters Sarah is the bullheaded younger sister that won't let her older brother Jason boss her around she wants to do things HER way whether he likes it or not. In the beginning Sarah thinks Jason is completely lost his marbles when he starts to build a cage in the basement because he swears something is happening to him at night. After one night in the basement with her brother going through his "change" their whole lives begin to change. Sarah and Jason find out that there are people who will go to extreme lengths to see that they are killed there are also some love interests as well as other things that go bump in the night. Liz and Micheal also return as well as the soon to be war between the Vampires. I am super stoked to read the next in this series. I am having a real hard time at the end of each book because I do NOT want them to end. Each book has been getting better and better. I highly in courage everyone that enjoys paranormal to pick this series up. Willow has done a great job in writing these books from her walking you through all the intricate details of characters and how they all intertwine in friendships or foes. And the fight scenes are explained in detail with nothing left out. I'm hooked :-) Happy reading!
  • The Bloodstone Oracle on Oct. 22, 2012

This book was gifted to me and I must say WOW in 27 pages The Bloodstone Oracle has shed more light on Micheal and the way the bloodstone works while being worn. Everything I have previously read is knitting together more tightly by reading this companion series. Bottom line if you plan on reading The Dark Gifts series reading The Dark Gifts Companion series is a MUST! Happy Reading :)
  • A Higher Calling on Oct. 22, 2012

OK to begin I was gifted A Higher Calling in exchange for my honest review of the book and I can honestly say this is something way different from all of Willow Cross' other books! I can tell that I am going to be at war with myself over Nathaniel and Ramiel both seem to have quite the body and looks by their descriptions but, I am still trying to place each of their full intentions as well as their personality's right now they both have a macho thing goin . Sophie has been put between a rock and a hard place wondering which side to take and to make it worse her daughter Shelly is going to be affected either way her mother chooses. While Nathaniel and Ramiel try to sway Sophie in two different directions she is scared for her daughter and also her possible future granddaughter if she chooses wrongly it could prove to leave no protection for Shelly or not having a granddaughter some day. As much as I hate the words to be continued this book has definitely left me wanting more. The Higher Calling is worth a look for sure! Happy Reading!
  • Haunted II on Oct. 23, 2012

I was gifted this book and I have always been on the fence about actually believing in ghosts and spirits.... I have occasionally on important days in my lifetime smelled my grandpas pipe tobacco and have woken up from a extremely vivid dream actually talking out loud to him. Mind you he passed away in 1991. I have always wanted to believe I have had someone with me this whole time but then again I would blame it all on stress. With Haunted II ( I have to add I read this in a lonely waiting room in the hospital after dark and I kept looking over my shoulder ) there was a creepy way Willow told her experiences she so easily walked you through her stories like you were there with her. The hairs on my neck stood on end and although a quick read it was worth it. Happy Reading !
  • Haunted on Oct. 23, 2012

I was gifted this book fairly early this morning and I was so excited to read it I read it right then..... HUGE mistake! Haunted would of been so much better for me to read AFTER the sun had set. At least for the full affect to get to me :-). Even though I messed up because I was so eager it was a good read and one worth breaking out during a girl scout camp out. Hey if your gonna try and scare kids minds well do it with real ghost stories! I also have Haunted II but I'm going to wait until later to read that one. Hope you get scared enough to look over your shoulder, under the bed and in the closet before turning out your light tonight :-). Happy Reading!
  • House On Butcher Harbor on Nov. 11, 2012

Ok first off I was gifted this book and I told the author that I would review it honestly after I read it. Now Im not one for ghost stories I dont usually read about them or watch movies with ghosts. Main reason being I cant see them but they can see me. This book a few times while reading it I had to put it down and go to sleep because I had goosebumps! Mind you reading at night with the lights off probably did not help much.Anyway though I fell in love with the lead characters in this book Claire was so amazing and Grace such a loving friend and then their was Deputy Dogg (hehehe) who would do anything for Claire to just notice him. And of course a the ghosts! Thei authors back stories of the house the ghosts the towns people was so in depth and well thought out. Now even though I was gifted this book I would have gladly paid for it and even more then it is offeted fpr. All in all House on Butcher Harbor is one of my WOW!! Books I really enjoyed it and hope uou do too! Happy reading :)
