Tanya Jones

Biography

I was born in England and grew up mainly in Stafford, a market town in the Midlands, with a year's adventure in Ohio somewhere in the middle. I studied English literature and medieval studies at Cambridge and York universities and later qualified as a lawyer. My novels, mainly comic crime fiction originally published by Hodder Headline, are based on my experiences as a solicitor in the north of England, as a teacher of English in Italy and as mother of three boys, one of whom is now a chess grandmaster. I now live with my family in Enniskillen, in the north-west of Ireland and divide my time between writing, selling Italian and English books and bits and pieces of community stuff.
