A most excellent read. page turning and enough of a cliff hanger that the remaining books in the series are eagerly anticipating.
Nice easy reading style, none of that pompous language yet full of just enough description to know where you are. Brines obviously knows his mythologies and histories well.
Decent read. Yes its two stories in one, but they are linear and elements of the first play into the second. Good old fashion Vampires! no glittery crap no forests etc. Good old fashion stake'em or melt em with Holy Water! As usual for Brines, His knowledge of history and paranormal comes through in subtle details. After all the mass produced garbage in the genre its like finding little Easter eggs.
