Looks like someone’s majoring in English Lit! That background in the previous review helped, seeing as I moved "Down Under" from the States about eighteen months ago and although the book is complete, I needed a refresher on the news. And even though I still haven’t ventured much further than Sydney, the towns and places described have enough trivia to make you feel well-travelled. Darwin sounded very authentic, as did the suburban horrors of Canberra. Brrr... The characters in Days of Vengeance are detailed, even the comparatively minor ones like Bill (a fav because he reminds me of a mate back home) or Jane. Or that would-be skinhead assassin in the seedy bar -- loved that fight scene! It’s the little things that really make this work; secrets, discovery. Plenty of chaos. I wouldn’t tell you to get this book, but are you interested in a good read...?
