Tammy Fitzherbert
Biography
Tammy Fitzherbert
I’m the CEO of the entity known as the Fitzherbert household. I manage, operate, and control
(to the best of my ability) two daughters aged 6 and 7, and a 42 year old husband/Golfer.
I enjoyed a career in advertising for a combined 15 years with ClearChannel Communications, Beasley Broadcasting and Solaris Hill newspaper. Copywriting, marketing, sales and promotions were my sole focus in life until I married in 2002. In 2003, after having my first child, I realized what real work was.
Though I’ve been a writer since I could spell, I started freelancing for extra income (and the occasional short-lived escape from reality) about 4 years ago. I’ve written a Children’s fairytale for a Denmark publisher, sold over 30 short stories to a Buyer from Odesk, and provided research material for a TV news show called “Fresh Outlook.” I’ve published the “Worst pick-up lines” for a Dating website, and fluffy pet stories for a Dog-seller. Recently, I completed an ebook for moms and ways to get summer camp for free. . Other jobs I’ve been commissioned for include monthly financial newsletters, article re-writes, and pregnancy stories for a Parenting website. I have several articles posted on Ezine and Scribd as well. In the December 21, 2006 Palm Beach Post, my article titled “The Real Meaning of Christmas” was the main feature in the Charm section: “For Women of all Ages and all Stages”.
I write novels for adults under a pen name, and Children’s Christian Easy readers (My little Luke series) for parents and children alike. The first one- titled- Jesus why can’t the animals talk? is a humorous attempt at showing why God does the things he does, especially where people and animals are concerned. The second book- Jesus, why does Matt have two mommies? deals with a more serious topic- homosexuality. I was faced with answering my daughter’s questions when she came home from school one day after talking to her friend who had 2 mommies. I realized there are many instances that will arise in today’s society that will require love and understanding sprinkled with advice from the Bible to explain and help them understand.
Though I’m certainly no expert in anything, the practical wisdom I’ve gained by being a career woman who gave up a six-figure income to settle down and play mommy has given me a bevy of topics to write about. Being married to a Golf Professional and living in South Florida where it’s “always season” gives me even more!
The juxtaposition of humor with real-life encounters are what I typically employ in my writing. By creating meaningful articles, I hope to enlighten, encourage, and entertain the readers.
Though my most precious degree is still in the works: that of being a Graduate of “Perfect Parenting”, I do hold a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the College of Charleston in SC, and an Associate’s in Communications from Appalachian State University
