Tyler began writing when he was the size of a peanut. From poems, to tall tales, to creating his own mythology, it was apparent that he was headed by way of left-brain activities, and onto a career in the arts.
Then he got a little older, and realized that the sciences, math, computers etc was really where he shined. He set down the pen and focused on the language of the universe - math and statistics. The arts were never forgotten, just 'put on hold' for that 'let's focus on a career' situation.
Still, something brewed inside him in a way that would occasionally force itself out, by means of abstract thoughts being projectile vomited onto blank parchment. Abstract essays, speeches and ideas, an abundance of creativity with little direction (Tyler shares a birthday with Alan Ginsberg, perhaps an idol of sorts) could be found jotted on the sides of notebooks and through various computer documents throughout high school.
Then came college, where one day he found that he could work the left and right brain simultaneously, and in harmony. From then on, neither took precedence, and his abstract thoughts began to take a much more real shape.
He has since graduated with a degree in Statistics, and balances his daily sciences with an evening of novel writing, poetry, essays, short story's -- taking really anything that might be flowing through his cranium at any given moment and sculpting it for a 'best fit' methodology.
He has dealt with several deaths of family members and close friends over the years, and writing seems to be the best way to tame the darkness that forever lingers close by. His completed works might be viewed as 'dark', or hopefully 'darkly compelling', though his humorous pieces can be contagious and he looks forward to heading more in that direction as life moves on. He also finds that writing poems full of positive thoughts and happiness can help to mend the scars that tear from time to time in his heart.
He lives by this quote, "LIfe is Beautiful", which he also wears on his arm. And so it is.
