At age 13, I ended up homeless in Washington, DC with no family. I left a homeless shelter in 2009 to attend college in Raleigh, North Carolina after earning my GED. I became a 4.0 student while serving as SGA President and was recognized by the United States of America's Interagency Council on Homelessness before graduating Magna Cum Laude from Saint Augustine's University on May 5, 2013.
