At first this book started out slow for me, but as I got to the 4th chapter, I was thoroughly enthralled in it. Em and Jake were exciting, and then Will came into the picture and it is so frustrating, but at the same time exciting. I want to scream at them. It is so nice to see a female hero, and have her not need a man savior. Someone who is so independent. But at the same time it is again frustrating, but you want something to happen between the two people you believe should be together, but independence and not knowing what to do gets in the way. What can I say about Leo. Faithful to a T, and definitely fits the bill of Man's Best Friend. Love that a timber wolf was used for this part. This book is so good, that I can't wait to read the rest of them.

I totally love this novella. I didn't want to stop reading it, which is always a sign of an excellent book, and even better an excellent author. I first of all loved the dialect that was used. While I, of course, have never experienced the supernatural events of this book in person, I have experienced the real life struggles that Leeny goes goes. I so felt for Leeny while she was going through both her family struggles, and her magical struggles. Being the eldest daughter, it has to be tough when Colly truly does not understand what she is going through, until seeing it herself. I have to say, this was an intriguing story and I wish it was a full book instead of just a novella. We have all seen the stories of the good and bad vamps, but a great spin on who is actually battling them. Also great to see who is protecting who, and as usual why some people are so afraid of witches. Most of all this is such a great story because, we see a child become a full grown adult when she realizes that everything happening has a reason, and what her destiny in it all really means. Tight knit families are hard to find in our lives, so it was so nice to see that it does still exist, even if we have to read about it in a story to keep it alive somewhere. Great Job K.B. Miller, you did an excellent job on this novella and I can't wait to read more of your books.

My daughter is totally in love with these books. She says they are her favorite of all time and she would love to know if there is more coming out. She has been bugging me for days to do a review for her, so this is her review and when i get to read the books i will add my own review as well.
