I was so completely blown away by this story. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!! This is the second book in the Prescott Pioneers series, and Karen did an incredible job!
The story of Julia is a sad one, she is the younger sister of Will Colter - who we are introduced to in the first book "A Dream Unfolding" (which I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing already!). After Will left for Arizona, Julia was left with Reuben their older brother. He is a nasty piece of work! I don't think I could possibly dislike a character more then Reuben and what he did to Julia!
With the help of Adam Larson, brother to her best friend; Julia escapes Reuben's clutches and flees to Will's home in Arizona. These two have some great chemistry, and he is one of the few people she trusts after her ordeal.
Also, we get a glimpse into Thomas - Drew Anderson's younger brother. He was one of the reason's Hannah and Drew had to leave their home for Arizona. I don't want to give away any spoilers from either book, but I love how these all tie in together. Hannah, Drew, Thomas, Will, Adam and Julia.. all with their own story but are brought together.
This is a must read for anyone who loves Historical Romance, Christian Romance or Western Historicals.

Stella has accidents, some could consider it clumsy but these just strike most people as odd occurrences. People are wary of Stella, keep their distance - why befriend someone who has strange and weird things always happening to them or around them? This always leaves Stella on the outside of everything and with no one to trust. When suddenly her life is in danger and the witch hunters are closing in - she has to trust Etoile and Marc to help keep her safe.
Etoile and Marc bring Stella to a remote location to help her train and learn her gift. She meets other like her - and have various gifts. While there she is caught in a love-triangle with Evan and Marc. The connection between Evan and Stella is evident right from the beginning!
This was a great start to a new series - a young woman who doesn't know what she is capable of is thrown into a life she knows nothing about. What would you do if someone was out to kill you and everyone you know!?
Stella was a great character. She's strong and funny - she's had to learn to take care of herself and not rely on anyone. This makes her a very relate-able character! I loved Stella, she had spunk and guts! She has great interaction with the other characters and the dialogue was engaging through the entire story!
I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance! I'm looking forward to reading Unruly Magic - book two in the series.

This was a really intriguing and unique read. It combined all of my favorite things - romance, vampires, history and of course witches! Sarah has always felt drawn to Salem, and after her divorce she decides to move to the town of Salem.
Her first night in Salem while driving home a glimpse of a beautiful old home that she swears she has seen before. Little does she knows this house will play a huge part in her new life!! James meets Sarah through the library where they both spend a great deal of time. Her a librarian - him a professor. James is also the proud owner of the double gabled home that Sarah has been so fascinated with.
I really enjoyed this story - Meredith tied together so many different elements to make this story very unique. The characters are well written, and engaging - they draw you into the story and keep you hooked right up until the last page. I love the budding relationship between James and Sarah; and how they have to deal with some incredible events. The secondary characters - Jennifer, Timothy and Olivia are amazing! They play such an important role with helping Sarah overcome her nightmares and see what is really hidden in her memories and subconscious.
If you love Vampires, Witches, romance, and history - you will love this story! I highly recommend this to everyone!

I always love picking up a self published novel that blows me away. And let me tell you this was DEFINITELY one of those!! Dianne Venetta is one fabulous write who pulls the reader in with such vivid details and amazing interaction between her characters. I devoured this novel - once I started I couldn't stop! Much to my hubby's irritation!! LOL Hard to cook dinner when you keep running to the computer to read just one more page!
Jennifer's mother is dying and Jennifer more then anything wants to have her mother at her wedding. She hires incredible gorgeous landscape architect Jackson Montgomery (aka Jax) on recommendation from her friend Michael. While these two got off on the wrong foot - they have some great interaction and chemistry. The sexual undercurrents with these two is FABULOUS!
Although Jennifer is engaged she can't get Jax off her mind. Her fiance is perfect for her - Aurelio is smart, successful, educated and sexy. How can she not love him and want to spend the rest of her life with him? With some lingering doubts she has to decide what direction her life is meant to go!
This was an amazing story of self discovery for the main character Jennifer. With her life thrown into turmoil she turns to her BFF Sam who helps her see the light. These two have an incredible relationship.. through up and downs they are always there for one another and are always honest. I loved that - every girl needs a best friend like that! I know I'm lucky enough to have one in my BFF!
This is a great read and needs to be read - I highly recommended that everyone picks this up and check it out!

Kat and Danny met while Kat worked a part time job during her summer living with her sister. These two fell fast and hard - and parted on very bad terms. Both are brokenhearted and have never really moved on in their love lives.
With a new name - Kate Donovan returns to that very place she met Danny all those years ago. Little does Danny know - she is the writer who will be interviewing him and his business partner. They clash and all those feeling are dredged back to the surface. Does she still love him? Can they make it work this time?
These two characters have such amazing chemistry! They have to overcome some pretty big obstacles and re-learn about one another. Kate has her own family issues to work through and Danny - well he has some problems of his own. Will they be able to get over those problems and fall in love again?
Anyone who loves contemporary romance, stories of lovers separated and brought back together will love this story. I wish I hadn't waited so long to read this - it was a fantastic read. Christy Hayes has written an amazing story and she has definitely earned a spot on my authors to watch for list.

Madeline is sexy and brilliant - an amazing combination, that everyone seems to underestimate. A published author with a PhD seems to put most men off, except Peter. The one man she is trying to keep her distance from! Running mates in the election for Governor, and exes... can they keep personal and private separate? Or will it be the undoing of both of them?
I really really enjoyed this book. Madeline is probably one of my favorite characters, she's smart, and keeps the men around her on their toes. She isn't afraid to go for what she wants in life, and isn't willing to take a backseat when it comes to politics. While this does get her into a bit of trouble, she sticks to her guns!
While this book had a lot of political chat and information I didn't feel overwhelmed by it, which was great! Sometimes in books like this you feel like you're bombarded with technical information and have a hard time grasping at what is going on.
I loved the "relationship" between Madeline and Peter. They had some great banter, which made the story all the more entertaining. Everything flowed nicely, you didn't feel a drag in the story. The secondary characters were funny and engaging. All and all this was a fantastic read and I will definitely be picking up more by this author.
For someone who loves a great contemporary romance, this is definitely one you should pick up!

- Craved
on April 12, 2012
Who would have thought a small town named Flora would boast a population of Vampires, Werewolves, Witches and a slew of other amazing magical creatures? That's exactly what we get in Craved! The first installment of the Gwen Sparks series. Gwen is the owner of a popular shop called Broomsticks. Her roommate and BFF Fiona are both Witches.
We meet amazing characters that include Aiden a 615 year old Vampire - who is obsessed with the lovely Gwen. Micah and Wyatt are gorgeous Werewolves, who are also part of the local Police Department. Micah is also Gwen's ex-boyfriend.
With all that, how could I not love this story!? A mix of mystery, romance and paranormal this book was right up my alley. Gwen is spunky, smart and hilarious. She has an incredible gift and is willing to put herself at risk to help Micah and Wyatt solve several gruesome murders.
I couldn't put this book down, I stayed up until 3am just to find out what happened to Gwen & Fiona. To see who Gwen gives her heart to and who is killing the witches!! Boy are there some twists and turns. If you love Vampires, Werewolves or Witches this is a book for you!
- Deceived (#2 in the Gwen Sparks Series)
on April 12, 2012
We pick up with Gwen almost immediately after the end of "Craved". Her life has been thrown into complete chaos, and isn't about to get any easier. The council has decided to go to war with the Vampires and she is going to be their secret weapon - whether she likes it or not.
I loved this book - there are so many amazing elements jam packed into 160 some pages. We meet several new characters, including Dorian and Kye and get to see some old faces - Fiona, Ethan and Holly; who we met previously in Craved. Unfortunately I can't give away too many details as it might spoil the first book to those who haven't read the series!
Gwen is one of my favorite characters - she's spunky, independent and isn't afraid to stand up for herself. Even if it might mean some BIG trouble. She really just wants to be left alone and not be involved in the whole magical world - but she is one of the only Spirit Walkers that exists and they aren't going to let her forget it or leave her be.
For anyone who loves witches, vampires, romance and some mystery will love this book. It will keep you on the edge of your seats and flipping the pages up until the very end!
- Kiss Me, I'm Irish

Emily stumbled into a stone ring in 1813 Cornwall England only to wake up on the sidewalk in 2011 of modern day Tennessee. She not only jumps almost 200 years into the future but across an ocean, and with no way home (not that she wants to return!).
Life wasn't the easiest for Emily in her own time, with the loss of her parents she is sent to live with her Great Aunt - who is bound and determined to turn her into a respectable lady, even if it isn't what Emily wants. When the carriage taking her to her new home jolts to a stop with a broken wheel she takes matters into her own hands and runs.
She wakes up dazed and confused at the entrance to a pub - where she meets Tinker and Liam, traveling musician. With no where else to go, they take pity on Emily and bring her along with them to their hotel room. This is where all the fun stuff starts to happen! Emily has NO idea where or when she is, with the help of Tinker she manages to get cleaned up and back on her feet.
The whole scene in the bathroom with Tinker and Emily had me giggling; while I did feel sorry for Emily, as Tinker was a bit harsh on her - it was pretty funny. Once Emily realized it wasn't going to hurt or maim her she gave and checked out all the modern conveniences we all take for granted!
One of things I really enjoyed about this book was the budding relationship between Emily and Liam - although it was a bit slow building. Liam had a really hard time believing Emily, but then again who wouldn't? How often do you meet a time traveller?
This book lounged on my TBR list for a bit, waiting for the perfect opportunity to be picked up. When Bella and I chatted about a guest post for St. Patrick's Day - I knew this would be the best time to showcase this book! This was an extremely well done story. For those who love a time travel based novel, with fairy's, some mischief, a crazy Great Aunt - and a clean romance; this is the book for you.
