The beginning of this book was a little slow for me but I really liked it after they moved and she met Josh. There was a good plot, and even though I guessed at the end, I wasn't completely sure it would happen. What I really liked about the book was the characters, they definitely had strong personalities of their own. They were very believable and they grew, which is always important! I kept picturing the Channie and Josh as younger, probably because Channie calls her parents Mommy and Daddy still. So when they kept talking about sex, and it's a HUGE part of this book, I was a little shocked. The characters are around 18 though so it makes sense that it would be a big topic. Their love was so cute and it was fun to watch. I will definitely be reading the next book!

This was a great book. Especially for readers who love the medical field. There was a lot of specifics about medical things and even though I'd never want anything to do with the medical field, it didn't deter me from the book. I actually enjoyed those parts a little. I was a little confused about what was happening in some parts - mostly just because we didn't know what was happening along with the main character. I like how real she made the characters - especially Brody and Clark's secret/special relationship. I found her attraction and pull towards both men very real and I enjoyed reading about all of the characters. Sometimes there's characters you don't like, and I didn't really find that here, except in the case were Allison didn't like them either. There was one part where I think some wrong names were thrown around but they were minor characters and even though I was confused at first it didn't ruin the story. It also seemed really long, which is fine, it just surprised me I guess. Would recommend if you like supernatural and romance!

Quit an original story. First you are drawn in by a girl who has lived a troubled life. Abused by her parents, you can't expect the girl to be normal. Luckily she has Maye and Ash to take care of her. From the very beginning I liked Ash and hoped there would be something romantic between them. Which happens and then there is another boy thrown in the mix. Usually love triangles urk me, but after reading the end of this book, I'm not even sure what's happening anymore! The end is something you don't really see coming, and it's not something that makes complete sense to me. In the next book I hope it's explained a little more. (I'm not going to say specifics because I don't want to give away spoilers.) Overall, it's an interesting read with a huge twist at the end. Lets just say you might think you know what will happen at the end, but you don't. I would definitely like to get to know the characters more and there's another book, so I think that shouldn't be a problem!

This was a great read! I really enjoy mermaid books because there always so much talk about beach life, surfing, and their lives are always completely different than mine. I enjoyed getting to know Marina and Ethan. The two seemed like a good pair even though I couldn't understand what kept Ethan around in the beginning. She wasn't that nice to him and was really awkward whenever he was around. It bothered me that for over half the book we didn't get one little inkling of how she felt about him. I was assuming she liked him but was avoiding her feelings but that was just me guessing how she felt. After a while though I really liked them together. I thought the way the mermaids were calling to Marina was original. I liked that she had powers even though they weren't ever really explained why she has them. Hopefully we find out those details later in the series. I was a little confused because the story seems to be from Marina's POV or at least we would know what she was thinking but every once in a while we would get what someone else was thinking and that bothered me a little. Also some of the conversations didn't seem to flow naturally or I felt like I was missing a couple of lines. I loved that Cruz and Meghan seemed like real people. I also loved Aunt Evie - she was so much fun! Overall, an enjoyable read that I will be reading the next book of. If you are a fan of mermaid books I would pick this one up!
