  • Destiny Divided (Shadows of Destiny Book 1) on Sep. 14, 2011

Deliciously sexy… I freaking loved this book. I enjoyed every single part – seriously couldn’t put it down! Great story line, it was very believable. This book had everything from action and romance… ahem… hot, saucy romance… to humour! Hands down 5 stars! Can’t wait to start the next installment in the series.
  • Destiny United (Shadows of Destiny Book 2) on Sep. 14, 2011

Wow… just WOW! A book to sink your teeth into - Destiny United is amazing. A vamp hero to swoon over and a fabulous story line. I was hooked from start to finish  I have really enjoyed this series so far. Looking forward to the 3rd book, Destiny Unchained! Leia Shaw is an amazing author and has a great writing style.
  • Her Dark Destiny (Hunters of the Dark #1) on Nov. 13, 2011

I really enjoyed reading this book. The story line is great – I was captivated from the get go! I love all the kick-ass chicks. Every single one of the characters has such outrages personalities – freaking awesome. They are unpredictable and keep you on your toes. This is the type of book that ‘does’ it for me – it is action packed (and yes… the girls did most of the ‘in your face’ knock outs) and has romance as well as humour! I just have to add that I’m totally swooning over Damien *sigh* although I don’t know much about him but I am anxious to see how his role plays out in Shanna’s life. I enjoyed Dave Ferraro’s writing style, that being said, Hunters of the Dark is definitely a series I’ll be following! Also have to add… What is up with the sneak peek of the second book in the Hunters of the Dark Series, Night Cries – seriously?! Cliff hanger of note if you ask me… I NEED to know what is about to go down *pouts*. All in all… it was a great read and I look forward to the rest of the series.

Where to begin… ok, this book is right up my alley! I enjoyed it so much that it kept me up till early hours of the morning – I could not put it down! I love the storyline and how Kaitlyn’s dreams are (in a way) connected to her everyday life and emotions. Terra Harmony is an amazing author! Kaitlyn is such a kick-ass, sarcastic and witty chick. She rocks my face off! She has this amazing way about her – stands her ground and fights for what she believes in, even when the odds are against her. Her spirit is unbreakable – I admire her strong character. Now on to the male characters of the book (of course I’m going to give you the 411 on the boys lol). There are 4 male characters that stand out, Alex, Micah, Shawn and Cato. Micah is just a hotness monster of note, the way he is described is drool worthy! At first I was so sure of their connection, but near the end I had my doubts – but it’s only the first book of the series, so we’ll see how things turn out. Shawn, boy oh boy – he is a head case. Some serious issues going on there and his little experiment with Kaitlyn just pissed me off, but that being said, there are deeper emotions at play and in a way I feel for the guy (but I’d still give him a good beating)! Alex – I lurve this dude, too cute for words. Cato is a weird old man, living in his own little world. Now I have to comment on the cliff hanger ending… wtf?! I NEED to know what’s going to happen!  At the end of the book there is a little sneak preview of the second book in the series, Air – that just made me want to read the second book immediately! I can’t wait for the second installment. This is definitely a series and author I’ll be following closely!
  • The Scarlet Dagger (The Red Sector Chronicles, #1) on Nov. 24, 2011

What an EPIC book!! I just love a book that is action packed – I’m talking about sitting on the edge of your seat biting your nails type. The characters are freaking awesome and captivated my attention from the beginning. Sloane… um… wow just wow!! She is a warrior through and through, whether it’s physical or emotional. She is tactful and strong willed – you need to watch your back if you ever get on her bad side. Having said how amazingly kick ass she is, she is also soft hearted and gullible – I love that about her, she’s got the whole package. She is thrown into a whole new ‘world’ and yet she rises to every occasion, kicking ass’ and taking names. She is a true heroine. Now for the swoon worthy boy toy in the book – Aden! Firstly, can I have him?? Pretty please?! *bats eyelashes* Holy moly, cinnamon and cloves… he makes my blood boil *fans self*. Aden leaves you second guessing where his loyalty lies and yet when in doubt I still want to believe in him. He is very protective of Sloane and will do practically anything to care for her. *wipes drool from mouth* Ok I can carry on now… This is a very well written book, that leaves you wanting for more! Very gripping storyline with twists and turns – you better hold onto your seat when reading this sucker, it’s a bumpy ride.  I can’t freaking wait to read the next installment of The Red Sector Chronicles. Krystle you get a standing ovation from me!!
  • Blood Warrior on Jan. 02, 2012

This book is freaking EPIC! I honestly have no words - I finished Blood Warrior a few days ago, and I’ve been struggling to put my thoughts and feelings into words. I did not want this book to end - EVER! Alexa is my hero. I take my hat off to her for pulling through and being so strong for herself and her sister during an extremely difficult and traumatic time in their lives. Alexa is an “I am Woman, hear me roar” kind of chick, that kicks ass and takes names. She totally rocked my world with her adventures and self discovery. She dominated big time! Kayden (AKA hotness monster dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with all things unbelievably sexy and tantalizing!)… he has a mysterious and dark vibe going on, which totally does it for me. The chemistry between Kayden and Alexa is awesome and mouth watering. Jackson is so cute. I have to admit that the whole ‘darling’ pet name irritated me, but that’s just me – you know, I have a name… use it. He is so sweet and supportive towards Alexa and encourages her decisions. H.D. Gordon… where have you been all my life? I seriously can’t wait for the next installment in this saga. This is most definitely an author and series I’ll be following!
  • Survival, a YA Paranormal Romance (The Guardians of Vesturon Series, Book #1) on Jan. 02, 2012

I have to admit I’ve never liked reading novels about aliens, the whole three eyes, big heads and green bodies theme just never worked for me, but when the alien looks and acts human it’s a different story. Survival is a very interesting read and different to what I usually read, which was a nice change in pace. Madeline, or rather, Maddie was dealt a heavy blow at a very young age, then a few years later another tragedy strikes. The reader goes through all those emotions with Maddie as well as on the journey of recovery and discovery. Maddie is a born and bred fighter – such an amazing zest for life. She loves adventures and the outdoors. Maddie strongly believes she is a bad luck charm… she has so many mishaps – I caught myself giggling hysterically at some of the ‘accidents’ that involve her. The male lead character is Rayn… he finds Maddie when she is in a very bad predicament and is instantly attracted to her. They form a bond that is unbreakable. Together they are an unstoppable force and fight for their relationship. They compliment each other so perfectly. All in all, Survival is a good read and I enjoyed the different spin on the aliens theme. This book ends on a monster of a cliffhanger with Maddie’s life hanging on the line…
  • Dark Matter on Jan. 12, 2012

Wow!! I absolutely loved the first book, Five in this series, but Dark Matter just takes it up another notch. Christie Rich has outdone herself. Dark Matter has a great storyline with mouth watering hunks that curl your toes. There is never a dull moment in this book with so many characters to follow. The main character being Rayla - she is one freaking lucky girl having men drool over her left, right and center. She has difficult decisions to make and one of them being, who will she choose as her mate when she is in love with 3 guy? Christie Rich introduces a new character which is Heath (one of the men that Rayla is in love with). Oh my… he is so freaking yummy! He has this dark and mysterious side of him that just does it for me. At times his softer side comes out, but I have a feeling there is way more to him then he is showing or telling, I am so curious as to see what cards he has up his sleeve. All in all Dark Matter is a definite must read! Absolutely LOVE the cover!! I can’t wait for the next installment.
  • The Society of Sinners on Feb. 02, 2012

I really, really, REALLY enjoyed this book. It has a great storyline and is well written. This novel has 5 parts, namely: Part One – Brandon Brandon and Stacy’s story starts off with Stacy, Brandon’s neighbour, catching him having a snack on the pizza delivery guy. Apart from Brandon being a one of a kind vampire he is also a stripper – yes, you read right *winks*. He is a mindbender vampire and he can read people’s thoughts as well as control them… Stacy calls him a “mind humping freak”! During their story you meet a few characters and learn about their mission in life – which can be compared to the back bone of this novel. You’ll hear about these characters throughout the whole novel. Part Two – Jazz Jazz’s story was my favourite. He is “Art Assass`i De`u - The Killing God”. He basically gets his ‘assignments’ directly from God. He is always hunted, he has never really known warmth or comfort, he feels no emotion and he has never known love… until he met Cherish. Cherish has a very sad past, she was a student and one evening after class, she was attacked, murdered (turned into a vampire), raped and kept against her will for 2 years. She finally escapes and now lives a very quiet life, working at a bar. She has always had eyes for Jazz when he comes to the bar for a few drinks on Friday evenings. They have so much chemistry and such a strong relationship that it was difficult to not fall in love with them. Part Three – Gabe Gabe and Taylor’s story was a bit weird but still friggin’ awesome. Their first meeting was extremely steamy. Gabe is a Were and Taylor is mortal. After a few more of those steamy meetings Taylor finds out that her life has changed… in a big way. When Gabe finds out about Taylor’s little secret he makes it his mission in life to make her his wife. At a very young age Taylor got married and learnt the hard way how life works. She works at the only diner in town and was barely scraping by each month until Gabe came in and saved the day. This couple went through a lot of ups and downs and eventually they made it work. I lurve the ending to their story! Part Four – Dominic Dominic is a Tracker. Dominic and his wife, Mika were separated for a very long time. Their positions within the Society came between them. Mika has suffered and blames herself everyday for allowing that to happen – she is at the point of self loathing. The very thing that separated them so many years ago brings them back together. Mika’s job required her to betray a friend of hers and that was her last straw. Dominic then realizes what Mika’s position within the Society has done to her throughout all the years and he swoops in and saves her from herself, from her emotional turmoil. Dominic can hear everyone’s thoughts except for Mika’s. She is the one and only person that he can’t hear. I loved how they found each other again after all those years and how they work through their issues together. Part Five – Dimitri I can’t say much about Dimitri’s story without giving too much about Gabe and Taylor’s story. There is no other way to describe Dimitri other than – he is a tortured soul. He is very old and lost his wife. He went over to the dark side for a good couple of years. He has so many issues but he really tries to break away from everything and start anew. He then meets the person that he believes he has waited all his life for. Overall… I enjoyed how all five parts of this novel ties into one. I loved all of the main characters / couples in the book! Their stories captured my interest from the get go. This novel has everything in it, from action to steamy romantic scenes to laugh my ass off humour. The male characters are absolutely swoon worthy! This is the first time I’ve read a book written by Charity Parkerson and it’s definitely not the last.
