Ali grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, then left after high school to attend the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. After graduating with a Master of Accounting degree, she briefly lived in Kansas City before moving to the great city of Chicago, Illinois.
She moved from Chicago back to Omaha in June 2006 after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Since then, she got married (2007), had two little boys (2009 and 2011), and started her own accounting firm, Maloy Accounting, that specializes in helping small businesses succeed (2010).
Prior to starting her business, she worked in accounting and auditing roles for a variety of corporations, including Andersen, KPMG, Jones Lang LaSalle, Hyatt, ConAgra Foods, and Farm Credit Services of America.
