Allan Young is/was a newspaper and magazine editor, engineer, police detective, farmer/rancher and riverboat captain. He has held executive positions in river transportation, as well as in manufacturing and publishing. His first of hundreds of paid magazine articles was published when he was eleven, and the first of dozens of books in all genres was published at age twenty-three. He also serves as a collegiate writing instructor, and writes from experience.
