  • The Ghost Hunter on Oct. 10, 2010

Ms. Lori rocked the house with another fan-freaking-tastic paranormal story! She literally kept me on my toes throughout the whole story. Biting my nails, sweat gathering on my forehead, heart racing a mile a minute and those are just a few things my body was doing while I was reading this story. Yeah, it was that good! Ms. Lori added all the right ingredients in Ghost Hunter to make it an awesome story! Ashley leaves everything behind in the US to Crossroads, England to a home that belongs to her family. And when I say everything - I mean everything - finance, life, home, job - her whole life. Or would you say that she was running away from it all. Haven't you ever wanted to do that - just drop everything and leave. Especially when it is one of those days, things are going to crap, kids (if you have them) are screaming, spouse (or whatever) is just on your last nerve... leave. Well, that is what Ashley decided to do. She has been called many things in life - she would just add coward to face things head on to the list. Because crazy topped the top of the list. You see, Ashley has the ability to see and talk to ghosts. Yep, you read right... Ghosts. And thanks to her oh-so great mother, Ashley spent a great deal of her life locked up where there are "real" crazy people. Being locked up just taught her that if you act like you are normal, people will eventually believe you. But how long can a person hide their true self? Or if you hide true self for so long... can you make it all go away.... Hoping to find answers to her past - why does she have the ability, what happened to her father - she headed to England. Do you believe in new starts? What about finding answers to your past... good or bad idea? Well Ashley had this burning desire to know... good or bad. Cristian... oh Cristian... This man is so sexy. What can I tell you about him... He is a warrior, an angel... He has been given a second chance of some sorts. He is making wrongs into rights for his past life. He is here to "guide" (okay, I am trying to be nice) the ghosts to cross over. Those ghosts that do not want to go... they refuse because once they cross over... they have to atone for their sins they committed while alive and some are just plain scare (yeah, ghost can be scare instead of scary - ha!) of what the outcome of Judgment Day will bring them. So, it is Cristian's job to "help" them to go where they are supposed to go. Okay okay... he kills them. Although he technically does not kill them because they are already dead... but him and Ashley argue over that little fact a lot, lol! But Cristian is a nice guy, I promise. And it also does not hurt that he is sooo easy on the eyes. Oh man... Very easy on the eyes. Anyway, he is back in England to finally put to rest one demon that has haunted him all his long, long life. But the man upstairs has a new plan for Cristian - He is instructing Cristian to take a seer. Not just any seer though... nope... His new seer is to be Ashley. A woman who does not want to believe in her own ability much less anything else. A woman who ignites his blood like no woman has ever done. A woman who turns him in and out and leaves him wanting her more when he should not be wanting her at all. This novel is complete with all kind of side characters that will have you asking yourself - what next, who done what, who didn't do anything, and who is going to help? You have a couple of witches, a werewolf, a vampire, half fairy/half leprechaun and a whole community of other things... Oh and let's not forget about the ghosts that live with Ashley. There is a little girl, Maggie who will steal your heart and Devon, a fallen angel that refuses to go to the other side that will keep you guessing what is his part in this story. I love this story. It was truly an amazing ride. Oh... yeah, I know what you are asking yourself now about my review... where is the smut... Oh Ms. Lori will give you teases that will leave you with a drooling mouth (so makes sure to have a napkin to wipe) and she may even make other things wet... but she delivers the story like a true woman who wants to leave you waiting till the last part.... And when you get... oh man do you get it!! Ms. Lori... what an awesome story!! What a truly awesome story!!!!!

Let me start off by saying this is my first Edie Ramer story. and I can promise you this won't be my last! This story is non stop with plotting vengeance or seduction, scheming for one thing or another, some major kicking ass, some hot lusting and guaranteed giggles! At first, I had issues with the way characters were kinda put out there right out the gate. It was not a bad thing, it had more to do with me and my recent reading habits. I have been reading two person books... maybe three... So, I was not in the frame of mind to read and remember all these characters. I actually put it down for a little while. Okay... it was only like for about an hour because I simply had to know what happened to Belle and Max. Ms. Edie did an awesome job of roping me in! And I am very happy to report that I am very glad I kept reading.... This truly is a delightful read! I have to say this is a very interesting book. Ms. Edie kept me guessing what the hell was going to happen next, who was going to do what or when they would do it. I mean I literally could not put the book down once I wrangled in all the characters and knew who was who and what or who they were after. And I really do not want to give away too much... because one tip off and a spoiler would slip out (I promise). So, I will leave you with this... Belle is sassy, funny, honest and a cat or was a cat. She is unlike any.... woman you'll ever meet. But believe me when you get to know her - cat or woman - you will want her to be on your side. And her love for Max is very ferocious! Max, oh man oh man... Max! **Happy dance and girlie parts happy too** He is the oldest in his family. Ted and Tory are his younger siblings. Their father passed away when Max was approaching his teenager years. Leaving him with the last works along the line of "take care of them Max." Ummm, I am not sure about you, but those are some big shoes to fill. So from that point on forward, Max had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Always helping out everyone, giving of himself, giving up for others to have. Oh and did I mention that he is also a multimillionaire. So you can only imagine every woman and their Mama's would be after him. Now let's meet Caroline. OMG.... she is a bitch and she deserves everything she gets and more in my opinion. She was married to Max's cousin. But he met an untimely death and he leaves Caroline broke. That is all I can say about her without giving her character away. Oh, I will say she definitely adds to the drama!!! Ted and Tory are Max's siblings and I would love to see them get their own story (hint... hint...)! Ted is the younger brother by seven years and let's just say that he never hides what is on his mind.... and you might find it hard to believe how much he thinks of sex, lmbo! He is regarded as the fun loving brother, the one who really smiles! Now Tory is the baby sister. She moved away to sprout her wings and grow! She is striving to become an actress in New York. But when the crap hits the fans at Max's house... Tory comes down to investigate for herself (and her Mom paid for her plane tickets, lol)! Sorcha is a psychic that someone wants dead. After witnessing the death of her finance, the killer is on her heels (oh I should say wheels).... Sorcha wrecks her car and in that one instance..... her life is drastically changed. For the better or the worst... only Sorcha knows! There are a few more characters for you to meet and they all add their own spice to the story! Ms. Edie truly kept me reading, cheering, holding my tears and breath back and giggling throughout the whole book! This is truly an entertaining, heart warming, very delightful book! Ms. Edie did an awesome job with this one and I will waiting for more!!!

Ms. Edie did it again with a book that took me by surprise and made me smile! And for those of you that have read the blurb and seen that it is not an erotic book - yes, I finished it all the way and loved it. Surprised, I know! But Ms. Edie really did a great job with Catittude that I had to see if she could give me more, lol. And she did. This is a very intriguing book to say the least. I mean you have a whole slue of things going on... Not in a bad way either. They all work for the greater of the book. Like Cassie for instance... she can talk to ghost. Which on the rating of a trait you want your girlfriend to have is not the highest on the list. So, Cassie has been dateless for around four years. In the mean time, Joe... a hot cop - a dead hot cop has become her best friend. What I really liked about this book was that Ms. Edie jumped right in there with the story. We find Cassie talking to Joe in the first chapter. And it went from there. We see the interaction between the two and it really made me think... Can ghost love? Cassie won me over because she just wanted someone who wanted her for her whole self. Not what she could do for them, not for half of herself and not to sell herself out. She believed in herself (with Joe's pushing, lol), she accepted what she is a long time ago... Now it is time to see if anyone else wanted to accept her. But putting her heart out there was not something Cassie wanted to do. At least that is what she thought until she met Luke Rivers... Who.. yeah, Luke Rivers... you know the guitar player of that hot band a while back. Cassie did not know him or care to know him. She was at his house, by his request to take care of a ghost that would not leave him or his daughter alone. Luke is not your typical hero of a story. He had me whispering to myself "dumb ass," then he would have me thinking... you are an ass... Then he would have me in a little puddle over what he wanted to achieve for his daughters sake. Erin.... Now normally I do not do books with children in them, but I have to say that Ms. Edie did this very tastefully. So much so that I truly wanted to take Erin home with me and love her to death. She is not a brat, she is not a princess. She is a child who had a junkie mother, lead singer of the same band her dad came from. A child who was lied to - from her mother. Then when Erin almost witnessed the death of an overdose... she called 911 and it changed Erin's life forever... not just hers... Luke's as well. Then we have Ms. Shay, the ghost that is haunting the house. She is quite a pain till Cassie figures out how to handle Ms. Shay. Now I will tease you a bit, Ms. Edie had me giggling at a part in the book when Ms. Shay and Cassie discuss Cassie's sex life.... or lack of one! That is all I can tell you! LMBO! Ms. Shay does not want to leave her house - end of story. Luke wants her out - period. Cassie is hired to gt rid of her - new story just waiting to happen, lol. How does this end.. humm... I am not sure. Okay, I am sure, I just can't tell you. But I will give you this. This is an amazing fun loving book. Ohhhh and yes, in case you are wondering, I did get my smutty sex fix! Ms. Edie does that very well. She held the sexual tension just right for a "family" story and then BAM gave it to me, lmbo!!! This book left me laughing my butt off at some parts, feeling the need to smack Luke upside the head a couple of times, wishing that Joe was a real man, giggling over Hunk, wanting to cradle Erin to my heart and love her, and it left me really wanting to kick Tracy's ass. Ms. Edie pulled a lot of emotion from the reader of this book. She gave me everything and then some. Luke and Erin's story will leave you wondering is it really easier dealing with ghost or... men?! Ms Edie, your writing is quite refreshing and I am loving it up!! Oh and also... I am looking forward (batting eyelashes) for more to come!!!
