Ami Braverman

Biography

I spent the first 15 years of my life in the womb of my mind. Yes, I was an overly, almost pathologically introspective kid. As far as I was concerned, I had never gotten to sign my birth certificate and so I did not see it as a valid and binding contract. When I was 15, I returned to Israel after a 12 year hiatus in South-Africa and I finally decided to be born. I got a social life, I got deep, life threatening scars of a romantic nature and I got a job. I have been in Israel ever since and following my illustrious first job as a dish washer I have gone through a million different jobs and self descriptions, including gas attendant, limping soldier, socially suicidal joker, poemless poet and bad waiter. In the end I settled on cognitive psychologist, family man and writer.
