Hi, Gene. That was an eerie, tightly-written piece of fiction. fast moving, right to the point, far from over verbose, it made a solid horror story. I liked the ending, too. Well done.

Hi, Jamie, You reviewed one of my short stories and I thought it only fair to read some of your material. Jamie, I loved this. I loved the tight narrative style that used sensible wordplay to paint the scene immediately in my mind. It was the sort of story that slowly pulled me in, intrigued me, held my interest and then finally hit me with that twist that makes such fiction so worth reading. I won't add any spoilers for anyone as that would be so unfair, but I loved this story. A great read indeed.

You certainly write a different kind of horror story to me. But I liked the swift pace, the black humour, and that final surprise that makes reading this kind of fiction addictive. I wasn't so much affected by the depiction of such violence, but then I felt you were using that as an effective tool to shock and jolt the senses. I loved it, and now I'm going to enjoy the rest :) Well done.

A decent short of fiction with a 'pulp' style feel to it. I enjoyed its analysis of one of life's great losers and his thoughts and his own untimely demise just as there seemed to be light of hope at the end of the tunnel. It sort of reminded me of something from 'Jim Thompson' territory, and I feel that is why I enjoyed it so much.
