I don't even remember how I came across this book, but man I am glad I did. I loved it, wish I would have read it sooner! A lot of the book consisted of world & relationship building and then the end chunk was a whole lot of awesome action. Portia & Vance are a great couple. They have a great connection & are not without their issues. The book was awesome & I definitely can't wait to read the next in the series!

Ok so I don't remember how I came across this book, but I am so glad I did because it was awesome! There were so many cool aspects in this book, but I can't say more than that because it would spoil the book. There were definitely some interesting paranormal aspects in the story as well. The book is pretty intense in parts and there is a lot of information being thrown at you. I was totally pulled into the book & finished pretty fast. There are so many great characters in the book & it was nice to get multiple perspectives (I know it annoys some people to read in multiple perspectives so be warned). Liv, Meena, Brayan, & Laith are the main characters & I like them all. Jedd, Ray, Drue, & Ashley are great secondary characters & I hope there will be more about them in the next book (assuming there is one). I also wanted to learn more about a bunch of other important characters in the story. There isn't much more I can say without ruining it, so I will say that you should go read it! I really hope there will be a next book because there is definitely a lot more to be explored!
  • Of Witches and Warlocks: The Demon Kiss on July 04, 2011

Ahh how I love Vance! He is a totally dangerous BA, but I love him anyway. The Demon Kiss is full of action that is practically non-stop. It is pretty crazy & there are some cool magic happening. I also liked that Shelly & Brad were around more because they were helping Portia & Vance. There were just so many parts of the story that I really liked. They were a ton of really intense parts as well as a cliffhanger! I don't want to give too much away, but I learned some interesting things in this book and I can't wait to see where they will lead to next. First off I love Portia because she is a strong character and she doesn't let people hold her back including Vance. It was nice to see him finally understand that and let her help. I just love that Portia can kick some butt herself and isn't just a "damsel in distress." Of course I love because well he is hot, but he is also so sweet adorable when it comes to Portia. There were so many scenes that I loved between the two of them (there were some very swoony moments). I don't want to mention specific scenes but they were just too cute! Other than Vance being adorable he is also super BA and protective, which I admit that I like even though he goes overboard sometimes. The two of them are just an amazing couple for how young they are. Shelly & Brad were fun characters to get to know better too. Vance's dad was quite possibly the creepiest, grossest person ever! Seriously he disgusted me and I wanted to beat the crap out of him myself! It creeps me out thinking about him! Anyway I can't wait to see what happens in the next book & I definitely recommend this one!
  • After Eden (Fallen Angels, Book 1) on July 25, 2011
    star star star star
I would say this is more of a 4.5 rating. This book was a lot of fun! The plot definitely had some great twist and turns, bad guys, and mythology. There were some surprising things about some of the characters and I was intrigued at seeing a different view on certain supernatural beings. I am excited to see where things will go in the next book because the ending was intense & there was a bit of a cliffhanger. Oh I also loved the padding the ex-boyfriend car scene. Haha what a great idea, I am going to remember that one! Devi was a character that I could connect with and she was likeable. Oz was a really fun character because he was pretty BA and scary when he wanted to be, but he was also so adorable. There were some great scenes between Oz & Devi (all I will say is: the pancake & dock scenes. If you have read the book you will know why I love these scenes). I also liked Kim (Devi's best friend), she was fun to read about, but I kind of hated her at times because of the way she treated Devi. Forneus was a total creep & I wanted Devi to run the other way. Just ugh!!! He is a great character for the story though. The only problem I had was that the romance between Oz & Devi happened really fast & was pretty intense at times. However, having said that it didn't really bother me that much. I thought they were a great couple and they seemed like they went together well. The whole book happens in a matter of days, but it seems much longer than that & maybe that is why their "instant romance" didn't bother me. Overall I definitely recommend the book & I can't wait to read the next one!
  • Coexist: Keegan's Chronicles on Aug. 21, 2011

Wow I can't even believe how quick I read this! It is pretty short though, more like a novella. It definitely left me wanting more! Keegan was an interesting character because she went to being kind of spoiled to being grown up in a short amount of time. It was fun getting to read about her training even though she didn't use it much. The battle was pretty BA and crazy in general. The ending definitely shocked me and I am intrigued to see what happens next. I liked Rourk, but his soldier mentality could be a little scary. His and Keegan's connection was pretty intense but interesting to read, especially from more than one POV. I thought he was adorable when he wanted to be though. I am interested to see where their relationship goes after that ending. There were some other fun secondary characters that I hope to learn more about in the next book. And just a side note: for some reason I found Donald to be a ridiculous name for the character! That sounds mean but I can't help it and I am interested to find out more about his part in the next book! So in all I liked the book and I definitely want to read more because this one was too short!

If you haven't read this series yet you really need to!!!!! Dang I love this series, it is so intense and awesome! Portia and Vance are such great characters and each book is always packed with action and plenty of twists and turns! Plus the scenes between Portia & Vance are generally adorable. However, in this book things are kicked way up!!! There are so many great parts in this book and I am so mad it took me so long to read it (stupid work, lol)! I don't want to give too much away, so I will just say that Portia & Vance are too adorable in this book & Vance's family is crazy! Also in general this book doesn't disappoint and this series gets better with each book, you never know what is going to happen! There were some scenes that really got me in this book too. I love both Portia & Vance so much! Portia can hold her own, but lets Vance take care of her. And Vance is a macho bad boy (which definitely comes out in this book!), but also incredibly adorable & sweet. He and Portia make such an awesome couple! Their scenes together are always my favorite and there is no shortage of those in this book, lol! Ahh shoot I can't say much more without giving anything away, but I really loved them in this book! The lines between them are awesome too, there are always some really good ones. It just goes to show how perfect they are for each other. They are so young but half the time I don't even realize it. Shelly & Brad are fun characters too! Okay I could talk about this series all day long, but I really don't want to give anything away so that it is ruined. So I will say that I am super excited to read the next book! Go read this series now because I highly recommend it!

First off I want to say that it took me awhile to get into this book. I think it was mostly because the prologue did not connect immediately to the story and I might have been a little confused. But don't let that stop you from reading it. Once I got to a certain point I liked it a lot better. Once things connected for me I read a lot faster. This is a pretty cool fantasy novel, there are all sorts of crazy animals and people. There was magic, action, romance, bad guys and plot twists that kept my attention. However, I thought some of the romances were a little weird, but maybe that's just me or maybe it was too late in the story. But I would like to see where they go in the next book. Oh and the bad guys are pretty crazy and the ending definitely left me wandering what the heck was going to happen. So I will be reading the next book to see what will happen. Overall the book was great once I moved past my issues. The world in the book was very magical and fun to read about. There were a lot of fun characters too, that hopefully I will get to see more of in the next book.

Really awesome story and a different take on vampires. There were all kinds of supernatural elements in this book. The alternate universe/planet thing was also pretty cool. I liked the inclusion of a sorceress too. There was a lot going on in this book and I can't wait to see what will happen next, especially with that ending. There were lots of surprises. Ooh also the mutant vamps were crazy, I bet they would be creepy to see in real life. Also I loved the confusion of what was happening to Evangeline, it was a very cool idea and I loved it. I really liked Evangeline, I thought she was a likeable MC. However, I thought she was way too trusting, but it was understandable. Plus it wouldn't have been as good without that element. I liked Caden, I thought he was very adorable around Evangeline, but there were times I wanted to smack him. I liked their romance even though I don't like "instant" romance, it didn't seem like it in this book. I liked all of the supporting characters too, they were all unique and a great addition to the story. Except Rachel, I despised that girl! Overall there was a lot of cool craziness going on in this book and I was left wanting more. My only complaint it that it was too short and I want more now, lol! I definitely recommend it!
  • Memoir of a Mermaid: When, At Last, He Found Me (Book #1) on June 14, 2012
    star star star star star
Wow, I really enjoyed this book! There were a lot of twists and turns in the plot and I never guessed what was going to happen next. It definitely held my attention because I really wanted to know what exactly was going on. Poor Seraphin was clueless, but it was fun to learn along withe her. Although I was frustrated when people didn't tell her what she needed to know. Joseph shouldn't have kept things from her becasue it just made things worse, it also made me want to smack him sometimes, lol! I liked the mermaid world in this book and I thought the transformation was pretty cool as were the places they lived. It was great to see Seraphin grow into her roll and actually kick some butt. Finding out more about her powers was awesome too and I found them intriguing. There was a lot going on in this story and I was never bored. There were a lot of great characters as well and they really added to the story. The ending definitely left me wanting to read more, so I can't wait for the next book. Serpahin was a great MC and I really liked her. She was very realistic and I loved how strong she is. Her life has not been easy and she has managed to do well regardless. When she found out about what she was she was resistant to believe and I thought her reaction was so believable and realistic, which I liked because it made the story more authentic. I also liked that she did not immediately fall in love wit Joseph, in fact she kind of hated him. She was very guarded and suspicious, which seemed very natural to me with the situation they were in. I enjoyed seeing their relationship build at a slow pace, it led to some great tension filled scenes. Sometimes I liked Joseph and sometimes he really ticked me off. He needs to come off of his high horse and be more honest with Seraphin. There were some great moments where I really liked him and then he would do or say something stupid. I can't say I like how he handled the situation and how he treated people sometimes. He started to redeem himself in the end, so I am interested to see how he develops. He wasn't all bad, he was just frustrating and arrogant at times. Nasani & Ethan were great secondary characters and I loved getting to see there separate part of the story! I also really liked the friendship each of them had with Seraphin. Oh and I really want to know what it up with Gianni and why Joseph is so on edge about him and whether there is anything going on with Gianni & Seraphin. Overall I really enjoyed the story and I can't wait to read the next one. I definitely recommend it!
