Lp Johnson

Biography

Wordsmith Lp Johnson is a native Illinoisan, born in Chicago in the late 60's to parents who both migrated from the southern US to the South-side of the City during their own youthful years.

Adventurous by nature and a self-proclaimed 'nomadic spirit', since arriving at young-adulthood Ms. Johnson has explored life in several states, including her current residence in Oklahoma. She has a healthy interest in the Sciences, the Arts, Photography, Music, and is ever seeking out new information in her research.

Most of her career focus has been in Education, and she has spent just over twenty years dedicated to advancing the excellence of primary grade students through various venues, including Tutoring as a volunteer, Teaching in classrooms, Faith-based instruction in the youth ministries, and direction of musical choirs. Ms. Johnson has as well served in the Senior Care industry as a Residential Care Assistant, first in a facility and then in personal care of at-home patients.

Above and throughout it all, writing has remained her driving force. From her very first poem to the latest of her undertakings, Ms. Johnson brings an especially artistic flair to the words which call forth vivid images in the scenes portrayed in her fiction novels, and displays a passionate desire to encourage others in her poetry and inspirational writings.

For many years Ms. Johnson brought those writing skills to the fore while penning speeches and plays -both for individuals and for group-activity programs; during her own schooling and later as she began her career in education. As her aspirations to publish her varied collections of writings grew over the years, she as well began reaching out to assist in researching outlets and polishing the works of others in her circle who, like herself, were frustrated with navigating through the trenches of traditional publishing houses and agents and confusion.

The internet provided a unique opportunity to branch out and expand the reach of what was already a growing interest in Website Development, heavily focused on maximizing product exposure with creative and eye-catching layouts and promotions.

As the newly burgeoning platform of Indie-Publishing began to take root among the writing community, Ms. Johnson turned her focus to learning all she was able to concerning where to go and what was to be done when one arrived. The result has been four successfully published Books of her own.

Now CEO of LPJ Enterprises as a professional writing consultant and speech-writer, Ms. Johnson returns to her goal of offering support for the journey of fellow writers as they discover the wonders of having a work with their own name on it available to a waiting public -whether on the bookshelves of downtown store, or a mere click away in a browser.

My eighth-grade teacher in particular was one of my most vocal promoters, pushing me to do the best that I was able to build upon that talent and challenge myself to grow better in every area.
When did you first start writing?
My first poem was in third grade, and won a small contest being held in school.
