Baker Crawfield

Biography

I lived, worked, loved, lost, lusted and learned during my years surfing the boroughs of New York City.

Writing this novel, Manhattan Underground - my first novel - has been an adventure in itself. I can't even say how many revisions and changes I've made. I spent five years pouring over these pages, honing some skills, creating a style. Since I first started writing Manhattan Underground in the fall of 2004 both me and this novel have changed. It is as much a part of me as I am of it; my life and its pages are inseparable though it is no memoir. If my life were as exciting, enticing, and rewarding as the life of my main character, I wouldn't bother writing.
