Billy Ray Chitwood
Biography
The author, Billy Ray Chitwood, a hill boy from east Tennessee, has lived in California and Arizona for the major part of his life. His family roots can be traced back to Chetwode, England in the tenth century. Chetwode is a charming rural hamlet just north of London.
He received a BA degree in English at Lycoming College, Williamsport, Pennsylvania; taught high school 'advanced Writing' in Lorain, Ohio; worked in sales and marketing for McGraw-Hill, Addison-Wesley, and Harcourt-Brace Textbook Publishers. He served honorably in the United States Navy, owned his own business, performed as an actor in television commercials, films, stage plays, and as a model in sundry magazines, newspapers, and corporate reports.
Now semi-retired, Billy Ray is romancing the beautiful Sea of Cortez and the constant sun with his wife, Julie Anne, and a Bengal cat named George, an endearing ball of fur, full of love and a feisty attitude.
Billy Ray says that his writing is therapy for the soul.
