William J. Truax
Bill’s focus is on Goal Achievement since setting Goals is relatively easy, Achieving them is not!
Bill helps people achieve their Goals whether they are seeking more customers, a personal passion, or goals as a member of a Project, Sales, or Management team. He has developed a 5-step program for Goal Achievement called It's Just a Skill®.
Bill is President of TRUFIELD ENTERPRISES, Inc. a firm specializing in Goal Achievement programs for Project, Sales, and Management teams as well as individuals. Along with meeting presentations and workshop facilitation, Bill is involved in Consulting and Field Implementation.
Bill holds a degree in Marketing from Indiana University where he also earned a Commercial Pilot’s license and flew part time as a charter pilot.
After graduation he spent three years as an officer in the U.S. Army where he logged 3500 hours of instruction as Committee Group Chief in charge of demolition and booby trap training at Fort Lewis, Washington.
In early 1972 Bill moved to Cleveland as a salesman with the H.J. Heinz Co. and was selected by Heinz to be a member of their National Sales Training team.
He left Heinz and joined a Cleveland insurance firm prior to founding TRUFIELD in 1978.
Bill authored the book, The BLITZ CALL®, A System for Fear Free Prospecting and Making Cold Calls. He developed and conducts Goal Achievement Workshops, Seminars, and provides individual training and consulting via Skype and Facetime.
Bill has spent literally thousands of hours in the field making cold calls with sales professionals to teach his BLITZ CALL System. When Bill is in the field he actually makes most of the BLITZ CALLs himself regardless of the industry. This is to show that anyone can prospect; you just need to know how.
Bill has also copy written several skill based training programs in the areas of Sales Training, Public Speaking, and Manners, Courtesy, and Etiquette, which he conducts for corporations throughout North America.
Bill frequently addresses classes at universities in Northern Ohio.
He has been actively involved in Selling, Speaking, Consulting, and Sales Production since 1972.
Bill is active in the International Churchill Society and speaks often on the life and times of Winston Churchill.
Bill has two avocations. He is a member of USA Track and Field as a Masters Discus Thrower. He has competed in both National and World competitions.
His passion for dogs and how they can work with and for people has focused his energies into K-9 Search and Rescue. As a result, he is an active member of the National Association for Search and Rescue and is an Auxiliary with the Geauga county Ohio Sheriff's Office K-9 unit.
Bill is the trainer and handler of Search and Rescue dog Gunny a German Shepherd. Bill has earned the SAR TECH II designation, an advanced Search and Rescue Certification with the National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR).
Bill and his wife Susie have been married for 45 years. They have two sons - their older son, William, is a Colonel in the US Marine Corps, and their younger son, Robert, is a Sports Medicine Physician with University Hospitals in Cleveland. They have 7 grandchildren.
