Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I wouldn't be able to remember which one is the first or which one is the second. But I remember vividly that as an African child from the South-Western part of Nigeria, from a tribe called the Yorubas, our culture is replete with many traditional tales, most especially tales about animal kingdom which are told children in the oral African tradition format. These tales by moonlight were my first real encounters with stories.
How do you approach cover design?
I want something that will set the potential reader thinking. I don't like direct graphics that will just give the entire message away but such that will be metaphorical; bringing something with a thin line of attributive or functional similarity (to be deciphered by an attentive mind) from a different conceptual setting to stand in for the conceptual setting I'm writing from. For example, More Haste shows a punctured tyre as its cover image. But we are talking about marital trials. You can guess the cobweb of a link.
