Brit Lowe is a retired medical professional who loves to write. She loves horses, travel, and long walks in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Northern New Mexico.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
You see that is what is so fantastic about Smashwords, they market my book for me. I can offer coupons to the public when a new book gets published to encourage readers to sample my book and hopefully tell others about it. Word of mouth is a powerful thing.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was born in West Texas where the wind begins. I was influenced by such authors as Willa Cather, Taylor Caldwell, and Nora Lofts all of them were female writers. In my male dominated environment it was refreshing to know and read women authors because I am a born writer. I wrote a screen play for my 5th grade class which we all performed for the public in our annual school play. My family were ranchers/farmers who loved to read. My mother and father were very well read and openly discussed politics...loudly, since they were on opposing sides. This gave me a good birds eye view on the world of politics and an overwhelming desire to communicate through writing. When you read my book The Truth About Colloidal Silver, by Brit Lowe, you will see that my bravery at attacking Big Pharma is directly related to watching my parents go at it tooth and nail each defending their own point of view.
