The Jewel of Asgard is the first book of this series that focuses on an unlikely team of heroes/heroines. And I was skeptical about how long this would keep my interest. Gotta say that the first and the rest (I have read only through Book 4 so far) have been very engaging. Flinthart has skillfully created very engaging characters and is sending them on quests capture the reader's attention and pull him (in my case 'her') into the maelstrom of the stories.
You've got my attention, Aiki, and my appreciation. My kids will have a real hoot about this, particularly since I think our youth's attention is taken far too much by video games. I'll never be a gamer, but this is a great series. Bravo and encore!
This book is very well written. The author's talent puts the reader right there into the action and creates a vivid tapestry for the plot. I found the main character Lucia to be engaging and I want to read what follows from this prelude.
