Publisher info

Born in Los Angeles in the middle of the last century, Brian Jackson has always wanted to be a writer. After decades spent working in the computer industry, Brian retired early and began to pursue his dream of being published.

But there was a problem: publishers!

That's right, although Brian found it to be relatively easy to write a decent novel his attempts to have his work published were not eagerly embraced by the publishers in New York.

Enter Smashwords.

Brian is now publishing everything that he writes via Smashwords. He's writing a little bit of everything in the hopes that everyone will find something of interest (and because everything interests him).

Brian now lives in the California foothills with his wife, a published author named Melanie Jackson, Alpine the dog, and Snowy the cat.

It was the year of my birth that things started to go wrong. By 1980 the world was a bombed out husk patroled by marauding mutants. A tiny group of scientists depend upon a questionable technology to travel back in time in order to stop the chaos before it began. So begins this facinating look at the consequences of war and the lengths to which the human spirit will soar to save humanity. I really enjoyed this story from the catastrophic beginning through the explanation of the technology to the throught provoking conclusion. The story is a fast paced classic that is sure to please. I highly recommend it. For lovers of Arthur C. Clarke and Issac Asimov comes a fun short story from the classic sci-fi writer Elizabeth Chater.
