Britt Kemp

Biography

the Useless Critic and other things. I've been writing since before I could read and that's really true. I'm inspired by Anais Nin and F. Scott Fitzgerald the most, with Jack Kerouac and Flannery O'Connor and sometimes Sylvia Plath (YES) coming into play. Short stories have been my recent forte but I'm also working on a novel. I like dark humor, but I like things with heart, too.

We are defined by our losses in life, I think. Each story within this collection (all six of them) are variations on this theme, in the post 9/11 American landscape, with hints of John Cheever and Flannery O'Connor thrown in. All proceeds go to P.O.W.E.R.S. Inc, a nonprofit that works with domestic violence.
