A compelling story. A young journalist is unexpectedly drawn into an armed struggle she knows little about. The battle becomes her own, with heartbreaking consequences. Cook provides vivid details about the subcultures in Moscow and Armenia that Jada encounters. Characters are strong, and the plot moves along at an enjoyable pace. Bombardirovka is one of those books I couldn't put down as I read it. When I was done, I was sad to be leave the world Cook has created.
