Carol Collins

Biography

Writing has always been my obsession and my joy. From the age of ten, I was writing short books, based on favourite TV characters. In my twenties, spare time in my job enabled me to write my first ‘proper’ novel, and I was fortunate enough to have it accepted by the very first publisher I approached. There followed a series of nine present day romances, all published by a top London publisher.
Love may be at the centre of them, but I have always tried to incorporate something more…a touch of mystery, discovery or as in several novels, more than a hint of danger. As well as being sold in bookshops etc., all of these nine books have been borrowed nationwide from libraries.
My publishers asked me to use two pse udonyms as well as my own name, as more than one book was being published in a very short space of time. I chose Caroline Etty (my maiden name) and Lorraine Rose (My daughter’s Christian name, plus my mother-in-law’s maiden name)
My husband and myself live in a village situated in the National Forest, Leicestershire. Until recently, we lived in the beautiful Cotswolds, and that area has figured in several of the books. I have two children who are both happily married, and two grandchildren, and continue to write at every available opportunity.
