  • A Bride for Tom on June 20, 2011

I am enjoying this book. Tom is such a loveable character, no wonder Jessica has a soft spot for him. All the characters are truly well done. I also love the humour throughout. It's a great read so far, up there for four stars from me.

Not normally my type of book, but I found it turned out to be a good read in the end. There is a good story here. The characters are well thought out. Good work!

I liked this little story. I think it had a good meaning, like the little engine that could. It was funny in parts, I could picture all the people flying around, acting silly yet happy. Good work.

One thing I can say about this short story is that it kept me reading right to the end, wondering what was going to happen. I can't say that I really did understand what had happened or what was written on the locket. Sort of left me in midstream. However, except for the formatting (could have been more paragraphs) I thought this was a good story.

When I read the word formatting I thought oh oh, how difficult is this going to be. But hey, it was not difficult at all. I did my first novel and followed the guidlines which are sharp and easy to understand. After that the rest I just formatted the same way. Mine were simple text but I am sure if I should wish to do something more elaborate that the rest of the guide would lead me through that as easily as before. Thanks Mark and team, you know how to do it!

I really enjoyed this little story and the pictures. It is an adult dilemma but is written with humour so kids will get a kick out of it and the illustrations as well. I can see kids from two up enjoying this book. Kudos to the author. Bright and fun book.

From the description I eagerly looked forward to reading this short story. From the beginning I enjoyed the way it was written, the man and the old dog. I assumed I knew where the woman had gone. I felt sorry for the man. I walked with him in the fields and watched the corn grow, then I returned to the house with him. That is where things went wrong. I knew what was up and I didn’t like it, but I figured this was his way of dealing. But then I reached the end and have to say that I was disappointed because it seemed to end without being finished. It was too abrupt. So a better, more finished ending would have been what I would have hoped for so I could have left the story satisfied that he did what he needed to do. For this reason I can only give this story three stars…I would have liked to have given it more.
