My daughter and son both read this when they were 11 and 12 respectively. They loved it and continue to talk about it - often comparing it to other books they read "Well, it wasn't as good as Tyger Lily!!" My daughter wants to be Tyger Lily since she loves animals and I'm sure she would love it if, like the parrot in the book, her bunny talked. . . This is an imaginative and poignant book. Its author has created a fantastical world which, though imperfect and sometimes sad, is also filled with wonder and hope -- a bit like our own world. That said, this is a delightful read for both children and adults. There is now a book on tape that is wonderful and I urge every parent out there to give a copy of this title to their children and, better yet, to read it with them.
