Living Up North taught me nature was filled with many precious gifts. The forests were filled with treasures providing me endless natural materials. Hiking through the forest forced me to listen to the wind whistling through the trees, birds singing their sweets songs, bugs humming around searching for food. Suddenly realizing nature not only provides us so many wondrous gifts; it provides us with simple lessons. I began asking myself how does nature survive throughout each season. I began to paint each subject needed for Come and Walk with me and Tiny Wings. After completing this quest a question appeared; why not explore another way of painting scenery? Why not paint through poetry?

Writing poetry provided me a new avenue on expressing my thoughts. Poetry is painting a scenery with words. My dream of becoming a writer became a reality. Strive to love, Anticipate with hope, Believe in faith was born.

Our neighbor was a beekeeper and encouraged me to learn how to make beeswax candles.  After accomplishing the task of candle making I began to document each new project. Cathy's Candles is an instructional book written to encourage rekindling an old craft of Candle Making from reusing and recycling household items.
