Shannon Kilkenny has successfully worked and consulted in the hospitality industry for over 30 years. As the owner of Enterprising Events since 1984, she has a produced, directed, and planned a wide and diverse range of events. She has worked with corporatations, associations, non-profits, educational institutions, and the private businesses and industries.
She is the author of The Complete Guide to Successful Event Planning. Concurrently with event planning, she wrote newsletters, articles, copy for marketing material and later writing and editing guidebooks, user manuals, and how to books. These two careers continue in concert for over 25 years.
She has also been an educator and public speaker for the last 8 years for the hospitality industry. She was one of the first to introduce environmental event planning to the industry. This path lead her around the country to speak at leading hospitality associations such as MPI, MICE, HSMAI, ISES, SGMP conferences and conventions and for private industries. She had the privilege to travel to Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Singapore to share the environmental message to the hospitality industry in Asia.
She has a B.A. in Public Relations with a minor in Journalism from San Jose State University and she studied Business Administration at Oregon State University.
