Smashwords Interview

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story that I have knowledge of was one that I wrote when I was in the second grade. I cut notebook paper in half. stacked them together to look like a book, and then stapled the left edge to bind it. I still have this in my hope chest. The story was called "The Lepercones" which, if spelled correctly should be "The Leprechaun's." It was a story of a Leprechaun looking for his gold and was complete with illustrations of rainbows, four leaf clovers, and pots o' gold!
What is your writing process?
I try to spend as much time as I can researching and plotting my stories before I actually start writing. I keep track of my research, character notes, and ideas using Evernote, which is extremely handy since I have the app on my iPhone that syncs directly to the program on my computer. When I'm ready to start compiling everything, I start my rough outline in Scrivener that eventually molds into a full, chapter-by-chapter outline of my story. Once my full outline is done and I know what is going to happen in each chapter, I finally start writing my rough draft.
