Cassia Ann

Biography

My name is Cassia Ann and I am committed to implementing positivity, motivation, and professionalism. I am a CCHT certified dialysis technician, entrepreneur, and author of 2 bestselling books in nephrology, and self-help. I am currently in college to gain my bachelor's in Criminal Justice to further my skills to help others.

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga, and later relocated to Brooklyn, NY in 2006. After settling in the big apple, I landed a career as a dialysis assistant. After a year of putting my heart and soul into that position, I was promoted to a dialysis technician. My supervisor Mrs. Showers believed in me and constantly encouraged me to be the best that I can be and overcome some of the odds I consistently faced. I was a winner over my obstacles time after time because of the motivation from her and others within the dialysis field.

I started writing my very first book "Expert Tips on Becoming a Dialysis Technician" in 2012 and finished it in 2014. I was impressed to write this book, because while I am working, EMTs and van drivers as well as family members of in-center patients, would always ask me how can they get into the nephrology technician field. Now that this book is created, interested individuals can know what it takes to land a job and function professionally in this environment.

I started writing originally on my blog http://dialysistechniciansworldwide.blogspot.com/ to share the insights I discovered after spending many years working in different dialysis units. While working, I was determined to soak up knowledge about patient care, hemodialysis, home dialysis, access care, as well as motivational tips. I believe that positivity is so important when working in any healthcare environment and it begins with encouraging oneself through materials about setting goals, team leadership, and limiting stress.

I love sharing practical tips for overcoming everyday challenges like patient care issues, goal setting for in and out of the dialysis unit, and how to become a true hemodialysis technician that is on the ball.

For those ready to learn about what it takes to be a expert hemodialysis technician and make a difference within the dialysis field, you can check out my blog where I offer free tips as well as powerful advice on avoiding pitfalls and other positive strategies. You can also join my growing FaceBook group for staff and dialysis technicians where everyone has a voice, share advice, and interesting memes.
