Biography

My name is Christie, I’m 22 years old. I live in Maine and I love the beach. There is nothing better than sitting on the beach with a good book in hand. I hate the winter and would love to live somewhere with a nice beach that I could go to all year round. I love creative writing and I write a lot of poems and stories. I have a couple stories that I hope to turn into books some day. I used to hate to read, that is hard for people to believe that know me now. I play soccer and like to sing and dance when no one is around. I’m going back to College in January after taking a semester off and changing from an English major to Nursing. Big change right? I still plan on writing and will probably end up graduating with a minor in Creative Writing. I love to meet new people and make new friends.

I love to read and write so why not write about books. I love reading new exciting books. I mostly read Young Adult, Science fiction fantasy and realistic fiction. If something sounds really good I will give it a try. I was a book seller at Borders for three years before they closed. I miss connecting with people while talking about books. I miss sharing the books I love and am excited about. That is why I started blogging. I hope that I can reach other book lovers here and share that connection again.

Cycles by Lois D. Brown ★★★★☆ Renee was just a normal girl, until she was left to watch her neighbor’s horse, Mercury. She had never ridden a horse before, until people broke into the barn to steal the horse. When she put the saddle on to ride Mercury, she noticed that it had a spiral on it, which tended to be her signature doodle. During her escape with Mercury she took a tumble and blacked out. When Renee woke up in the hospital she learned that her blood type didn’t match any known blood type, which lead to the discovery that the people she believed to be her parents were not. Renee searched for answers as she began to remember things from another life. Cycles was an interesting read. I really enjoyed the concept, it was different and a new one to me. I’m not sure if there are other books along the same lines but for me this was anew idea and I really liked it. I found it original and fresh. I enjoy when I find new stories instead of reading about the same idea used over and over again. The author did a good job with writing an interesting Young Adult novel that grabbed me and I’m sure will grab other readers as well. The author will be releasing the sequel Spaces sometime this year and I look forward to reading the it to find out what happens next with Renee. This book was provided to me from the author for review, thank you for a great new read.
