Perpetual Twilight
on April 27, 2010
This book is an interesting read. It's half Isaac Asimov and half Zane Grey with a small twist of Robert Aspirin thrown in for grins. It takes place in part on earth, partly in space, and partly on Perpetual Twilight, a planet colonized by humans. The planet colonies start off rough and tumble in a manner reminiscent of the old west.
The science mostly comes in the descriptions and the use of time warp due to faster than light (FTL) travel. Naturally, this occurs during the space flight and does lead to some interesting consequences.
The story is fast paced and the action and dialogue keep the pace moving at a good pace. The humor is dry, but that's the way I like it. :) (Watch out for the turkey baster!)
All in all, a very interesting read and well worth the cost of an epurchase.
