Chikita Shell is a former Juvenile Detention Counselor for Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice who has been a stay at home mom for the past 9 years. She always had a love for writing, but started writing professionally a few years ago; Just When I Thought It Was Over is her first book.
Chikita graduated Cum Laude from Alabama State University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. She also earned a Master of Science degree in Justice and Public Safety from Auburn University Montgomery and a Master of Education degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University.
She always had a passion of helping others. While attending Alabama State University, Chikita devoted her time to volunteering for various community outreaches such as American Red Cross, Montgomery Area Meals on Wheels Program and the Good Shepherd Soup Kitchen.
Chikita regularly attends church and other inspirational services, which she credits for giving her the strength to overcome life’s obstacles.
She currently resides in suburban Atlanta with her husband, Malcolm Shell and two wonderful children, Elijah and Sariah.

This book is about the author's life and how she defeated the odds of her childhood to become a successful college student, loving mother and wife. She always had dreams of becoming a professional career woman, but after an unexpected turn in life, she found herself secretly battling depression and anxiety. However, through the support of family and personal determination, she regained faith.
