Biography
I teach English language and literature in France.
In my free time, I write essays and fiction, review fiction for the Times Literary Supplement, and show scant regard for the syntax of spoken French.
Before moving to Paris in September 2008, I had been living and working in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for four years. Whilst there, I wrote articles and did subediting for a national English language newspaper called Thanh Nien Daily. I also wrote articles for a number of expat magazines and online publications. Interestingly, these biographical facts have had almost no ameliorating effect on my subsequent publishing career in Europe.
