Dave Cornthwaite

Biography

Dave Cornthwaite, 32, is a Guinness World Record-breaking Adventurer and Author.

Dave, from England, was the first person to skateboard the length of Britain and the width of Australia, covering 4500 miles in 8 months on the road. In 2011 he completed a 2404 mile descent of the Mississippi River in 82 days, officially the longest journey by Stand Up Paddleboard. He has also travelled the length of Australia's Murray river on foot and by kayak, and pedalled a tandem bicycle between Vancouver, BC and Las Vegas with his friend, the Author Sebastian Terry.

Dave's second book, DATE, launched in December 2011 and tells the story of Dave's hapless efforts to find a girlfriend by attempting to date 100 women in 100 days.

The next few years will be filled by Dave's amazing Expedition1000 project, a series of twenty five journeys, each at least one thousand miles in length and using a different method of non-motorised tranport each time. He hopes to raise £1,000,000 for charity through these journeys. He currently has 21 left to undertake, so it shouldn't take long...
