Coty Schwabe

Biography

I was in marketing for 3 years. Until it took its toll on me mentally. I stopped shelling products out to people who didn't need them and switched to writing instead.

Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
I first starting writing back in 2012. The first book I ever wrote was called Paladin, a former version of In Search of the Sword. This book was based on ideas that I had in high school. Back then, I wanted to create video games because they were a big part of my life. When I realized that the opportunity most likely wouldn't happen, I decided to take those ideas and put them into a book. From there, I wrote a few other books that were alright, but I wasn't proud of them. I was proud that I had written them, and, at the time of writing, thought they were great. When I reread them, I was a little disappointed and threw them all away. In Search of the Sword was the first book I was truly proud of.
What motivated you to become an author?
The biggest reason is that I had a lot of time on my hands. I had a business from home until the end of 2011, and when that collapsed, I found that I had so much time on my hands that I wanted to do something with it. Writing filled that gap, and I liked being able to create stories out of nothing.
