David Sartof

Biography

I was born in a small caravan in a field in the north of Scotland. After such an inauspicious yet somehow romantic introduction to life, I have gone on to do many things. I have served in the merchant marine, been a professional engineer, a military officer and an entrepreneur. I also have a PhD in management philosophy and can research the backside off most things! I now live, in North Yorkshire, England, with my wife, young son and their two rabbits (different colours so that I can tell them apart, the rabbits, that is). Throughout my eclectic career, I have always written, believing fervently in the power of the written word, and I have previously published a non-fiction work with Palgrave Macmillan. I now bring together a set of rich experiences, a creative research-based outlook to plot construction, and a dash of essential seasoning, to bring you fiction such as River of Judgement.

I’m dying, well that’s what I’ve been told. How has my life come to this: death, betrayal, friendship, love? Yes, love. I know it’s there somewhere, but I’m struggling to make sense of things. How can I, Oliver Beaton-Court, be here in this cabin, looking at my dead wife and holding an axe… Maybe Tom can give me the answers I need, or maybe there are no answers…

Ambition hangs in the balance following a boardroom coup. Finn Jackson is caught in a game of cat-and-mouse, trying to hold on to all he has worked so hard to achieve. Intrigue and suspense ensue as he battles to keep his head above water, even the distraction of beautiful women cannot tempt him from his end-goal, indeed they are the reason he needs to keep going. Will honesty and grit be enough?

Sun, snow, suspense and... sex... What do you do – as a man – when you arrive home and find your wife in bed with your best friend? You don’t know? Well, pick up this Miami-based suspense novel and take a lesson in life. Life happens to us – we are presented with circumstances and options on a daily basis, many outside our own control. Sometimes fate constrains our options and drives up down a path that is not of our choosing… And so it happens that Nick Donovan is driven away from the comfortable, happy world he has known and becomes seduced by the sexual allure of Brandy – not knowing he is being sucked into a whirlpool of drugs and deceit with the power to strip away and destroy everything that remains most dear to him... Darcia Helle has written a compelling account of a divorce from a male point of view. She provides great insight into the spiral of decay that can occur when the only option remaining is to swim in a sea of seduction or drown. But this is not an academic text on divorce – it is a hugely entertaining romp around a world where risk and danger provide the fuel of life. And sex… plenty of sex – on the back of it, Nick Donovan’s life changes for ever! Read it!
