"Not my best week ever"
Smashwords book reviews by Dee A Mony
- Espresso Macchiato
on May 22, 2012
Wow! I really enjoyed this short read. Could you extend it to. Wish I could get my hands on my own Espresso Macchiato. I would say YES on the first go.
- Waiting Forever
on May 23, 2012
Loved this read. Short, sweet, and nostalgia inducing.
- Manhattan Magic
on May 23, 2012
Okay read. A little bit too atypical but overall well written.
- So Serendipity: the short story
on May 23, 2012
I wish I could ferret out what happens between Siri and Nick.
- A Dove Descending
on June 13, 2012
Wonderful book! I am a character kind of reader myself and this was exactly my cup of tea. Fresh and engaging... opossums and all!
- Falling Star
on June 20, 2012
I love Naomi; she knows how to make a comeback in the face of adversity.
- A Holland Kiss
on June 20, 2012
What a sweet love story. Absolutely enjoyable read.
- Ride the Rainbow Home
on June 24, 2012
I would definitely recommend this tender, sentimental and well written romance. I like a book with with enough substance for me to bite into. Learnt a thing or two about the Navajo Indians.
- From a Guys View
on June 26, 2012
I have never really understood men, and my ex could NEVER be a gentleman (no opening doors, no holding out chairs, slurping his food) and it irritated me to no end.
However, this little ditty makes me see it from a guy's point of view and I guess it is hard on everyone all around. But I don't get why the main character is so hung up over the break-up; after all HE breaks up with HER? So why mop?
Other than the glaring typos, it is quite a good read. But that doesn't mean I have forgiven my ex for slurping.
- The Universe Doesn't Give a Flying Fuck About You
on June 26, 2012
I can't make up my mind whether to be depressed or uplifted by this short piece. I do KNOW I have to get off my ass and DO SOMETHING. And then again, what does it matter if I do or I don't?
- I Married a Pirate
on Aug. 20, 2012
I laughed, I sympathized, empathized, cheered, disagreed with the heroine at times, and held my breath at the end cajoling the her: 'Say yes! Say yes to the Pirate!'Truly unputdownable.
- Deadly Offerings
on Aug. 29, 2012
Michael Brandt is a man made just how I like them, with a protective streak broader than the Grand Canyon. What do you say about a man who drives THIRTEEN hours just to make sure you are safe? Irresistible, that's what.
- Her Mad Hatter
on Oct. 10, 2012
Ordinarily, I do not read romance labelled as 'fantasy', but Mad Hatter got my attention right from the synopsis. Reading this book was a wise decision and an unexpected delight. Deserving of 5 stars for the vivid story telling that twists Alice in Wonderland without distorting it. All the while I was thinking, 'This would make a ginormous Box Office hit if somebody turned it into a movie.' Are you listening Ms. Hall? Thank you for the beautiful story.
- Mr. Satisfaction Guaranteed
on Oct. 20, 2012
Wow. And again wow. Short but extremely hot erotic romance. It will leave your juices flowing.
- Dream Lover
on Oct. 20, 2012
Good book. Stubborn Max and Quinn. It's surprising what unspoken words can do to harm a relationship. Worth tht read.
- Sara's Child - Book One of The Sara Colson Trilogy
on Oct. 21, 2012
A good read. I like the feisty fighter in the heroine, and the tender unwavering gentleness of the hero. I am glad I came across this read and eagerly await the sequels in the trilogy.
- Lazy Sundays
on Oct. 22, 2012
I don't normally read gay romance, but this was my exception to the rule. An outstanding book that is emotionally driven and very raw. Wonderful read.
- The Importance of Being Denny
on Oct. 22, 2012
Tender and sizzling hot at the same time. Can we get more of this? Like a full novel or something...pleaase Kari :-)
- Cornered
on Oct. 22, 2012
A hot hot read. A store room has never looked sexier than this.
- The Witch's Birthday Brew
on Oct. 22, 2012
Nice. Now if I could only conjure up my own perfect man :-)
- Haunted Spouse
on Oct. 24, 2012
This is a real gem. 6 star recommendation.
- Until You
on Oct. 24, 2012
Every once in a while on Smashwords, you come across the Gem of a book that really stands out. I am so glad I came across "Until You". I love the witticism of both the author and her characters, the setting (what's not to love about Paris), and the romance. I love the personal --inner conflict --that both the main characters have to go through to realize that they need each other. AWESOME book. One of the best I have ever had on Smashwords.
- The Compromise
on Oct. 29, 2012
Very nice book. A short but sweet romance story.
- The Best of Friends
on Oct. 29, 2012
Definitely 5.5 stars. Michelle Grotewohl never ever disappoints.
- The Vampire Viscount
on Nov. 01, 2012
Wow! This book thoroughly deserves six or more stars. A story about how love does truly triumphant over all, and how two people unexpectedly come to find love. If this book is on your reading list, bump it to the top; drop everything you are doing right now and lose yourself in this wonderful tale in which the greatest magic of all is not magic, but the power of love.
- Arousing Amelia
on Nov. 04, 2012
I disagree with Ernest, I love the twist; totally breaks all cliches. 5 stars for that little twist that makes the story :).
- Arousing Bethany
on Nov. 04, 2012
Wow! The imagery left very little to the imagination. I loved this sizzling read.
- The Highlander's Hope - A Contemporary Highland Romance
on Nov. 09, 2012
What a way to fall in love. I wouldn't be able to resist that Scottish brogue and charm either. Delightful read.
- Hope on a Paige (Tales from the Dead Letter Office)
on Nov. 10, 2012
Beautiful story of hope and dreams coming true.
- Semper Fi (An Erotic Romance)
on Nov. 12, 2012
Five stars for a story well told. How can a marine be so hard and yet so gentle?
- Wedgewick Woman
on Nov. 12, 2012
I actually read Cadence first, and did not initially realize that both books are by the same author. However, the strong, giving, passionate and stubborn characters of the leading male should have been a clue. This is a wonderful read.
- Second Time Around
on Nov. 12, 2012
Short but awesome read. I love the twist at the end.
- The Long Road Home
on Nov. 12, 2012
Great read. It is reassuring to know that we can truly be loved just the way we are.
- The Officer's Wife
on Nov. 13, 2012
I am really glad I took the time to read this book. Not only was it enjoyable, but it was very realistic in terms of addressing the issues the main characters face all the while not underplaying the power and redeeming quality of love. Kudos to the author.
- CUTTERS VS. JOCKS, A Prequel Novella to Binding Arbitration/Chick Lit
on Nov. 13, 2012
Wow and again wow! When I saw 'jocks' in the title, I was expecting a lot of dumb-assery and actually hesitated a moment before downloading the book. However, all the positive reviews made me think twice and I am glad I cast aside the stereotype and took the time to read this little treasure. It would have been totally my loss if I had not. One of the best reads I have come across on Smashwords so far.
- Shades of Honor
on Nov. 15, 2012
I have passed this book over a number of times and it has been my loss every single time. The depth, the candor, the rawness of the emotions in this book makes it a gripping read that is worth every star plus one. The conflict the main characters face, having to decide whether love and passion trump honor and family...let's just say it put me at the edge of my seat, and I barely remembered to breath until the very last page.
- Discovering You
on Nov. 15, 2012
This is a book about how love can transform and redeem; how love can bring a person from the darkness into the light; and how love is selfless in that we do not just love perfect people, but we love people as they are. Yes, I give this book 5.5 stars.
- Lazy Valentines
on March 02, 2013
Wow! This just gets better and better. Tenderness, understanding, the triumph of love over personal inadequacies...this is an unputdownable must read -a fitting sequel to Lazy Sundays. Thank you K-lee for continuing this amazing love story. I cannot wait for the full length novel.
- Leave It In The Tea Tin
on March 02, 2013
This is a very honest plea from an enthusiastic fan (yes, 5000 words and I am a die-hard fan): please write another story. Why are all the good writers the worst procrastinators?
- The Kiss
on March 05, 2013
Yes! Yes! Yes! This short read has just the right amount of steamy, romance, humor, and sizzling passion that makes you fall head over heels, knees over neck in love with the hero and heroine. Wow. This has been 45 minutes well spent.
- Ocean of Love
on March 17, 2013
Wow! This was truly unputdownable. I read it without even taking the time to blink. Wonderful heartwarming story about finding love when you are most alone, and being accepted just as you are --even with an iridescent tail.
- Marital Bitch
on March 17, 2013
(no rating)
I started reading the book and loved it. However, I couldn't finish it at the time and now that I want to know the end of this intriguing story, I find the PDF version is only up to page 10. I loved the story, could the author please help out with this glitch? Thank you.
- Jilted in January
on March 23, 2013
Good read.
- The Job Offer
on April 01, 2013
This book had romance just the way I like it. I find it very hard to keep with a book once I come across grammatical errors, but this read was so gripping I overlooked those. Being her first digital book, I cannot wait to see what Eleanor Webb has in store for us. The intro to "Going for Gold" looks intriguing and I can't wait to get my hands on it! Five star recommendation for "The Job Offer"
- The Game
on April 01, 2013
I absolutely loved this read and highly recommend it to any reader who loves corporate Romance. The heroine is strong in her softness, and I like the way she holds her ground despite the forceful nature of the male lead. The ending caught me a little by surprise as well but it was suitable for this particular tale --like it could not have happened any differently.
- Dane
on April 01, 2013
One word: HOT!!!
- Barely There
on April 02, 2013
I really enjoyed this short read; just enough of spice to keep you het up, and enough tenderness to make it a truly touching romance.
- The Devil You Know
on April 02, 2013
Holy Mother of Erotica!! This is such an intense and moving erotic read with just the right dash of unexpected tenderness. When a man like man is brought down to his knees...
One of the best erotic reads I have had in a while.
- Heir Untamed (Royals Book 1)
on April 05, 2013
This book sure got me from the word go. A pleasurable read that has the essence of a fairy tale but firmly rooted in reality. I wish I could snag my own Dare-Sander :)
- Ship Breaking
on April 05, 2013
Wow. Is this really the end or is there more to come? More more more... ...
- Rules of Engagement
on April 05, 2013
Short and sweet. Where love is concerned, anything is possible.
- Puzzle of the Heart
on April 06, 2013
A sweet story about correcting misunderstandings and getting back to love. A short and quick read that packs a punch.
- Back in the Saddle (Jessica Brodie Diaries, Book 1)
on May 15, 2013
full of humor and some really cool one liners. I love the dry sacarsm and wit
