Henry B. Zimmer is a retired CPA (with a degree in English literature) and has written 15 books on Canadian taxation and investment topics. Designated Hitter is his first work of fiction.

Designated Hitter is the initial book in a trilogy planned by Mr. Zimmer that combines sports and advances in medical science. The other two books are Runner’s High, which tells the (fictional) story of the first sub-two-hour marathon and Big Men Don’t Cry, a tale about an 8’ tall talented and co-ordinated basketball player, who a short time earlier was only 5’ 5”.
