At just around 26,000 words this is not a long read. But it is an excellent one. I loved it. It wasnt rushed and everything was explained. The story had a natural pace that just flowed.
Jace is the alpha werewolf that Morgan goes to in order to make a treaty that will help both sides fight off the demon invasion. What neither one knows though are the secrets they come into the deal with and how they are planning to solve the problem without the other being involved in more than blood sharing.
Needless to say nothing goes as planned and the two sides both have to come to some realizations and acceptance to rid them of their common enemy.
Even though the story was short, we find out plenty about Jace and Morgan to make them fully realized characters. We also get a pretty good sense of some of the secondary characters in the story. I only hope we get to meet up with them all again and find out more about their stories.
If you are looking for a great suspense filled werewolf/vampire tale. Pick this one up you wont regret it.
Great follow up novel to the first in the series - Witch Way Bends. That is where we first meet Jill. Jill was a friend of Devan's back in college. It was during that period that Jill took a job recommended by a friend that led to her meeting Doc.
We spend the novel in the present, which continues where the previous book ended. And in the past, where Jill met Doc and how she became a vampire. This is done in alternating chapters which are really well put together. You can see how the events that Jill is remembering are affecting her current decisions and how she reacts. You never get lost or bored or wonder where you are. The past and present chapter meld together perfectly and create a great story.
I loved the first book, and the second did not disappoint. It was just as good. And I am eagerly looking forward to the third, which I hope comes out soon. I highly recommend that you check this series out. It is one not to be missed.
All I can say is I loved this book. This has become one of my favorite new series for the year and an author to watch.
From the beginning you are pulled into the story. You meet Devan, who is on a mission, personal but serious. You meet Kent, who is on the same mission but with different orders ad priorities. Devan does not know who or what she is. But Kent's friend and coworker, Langston, does. We see them all come together to achieve their goals. And to watch Devan learn to control and use her talents.
This was just a great start to a new series. One that I can not wait to read more of. The story is well done and put together and the characters are interesting and fun to watch. If you like paranormal check this out right away and keep this author on your watch list.
