Dr. Andy Brovey


Biography

Dr. Brovey is a freelance professor of technology delivering lively learning, engaging presentations, professional development and personal support. He’s helped educators and others to make sense and make use of technology for over 25 years. Andy enjoys working on site and online to identify and implement resources, improve digital skills, mine and refine web applications, and explore the potential of mobile learning tools. Andy has served as Director of Instructional Technology at Universities in Virginia and Pennsylvania. His primary responsibilities included faculty development, leadership in technology integration and managing support functions.

Dr. Brovey was also tenured faculty member of the Department of Curriculum, Leadership, and Technology, at Valdosta State University (VSU) in Georgia. At VSU he led graduate courses on site and at a distance, and served as an educational technology specialist on grant and service projects for local schools. Andy was a founding member of VSU's HUB Learning Cooperative for faculty development, and founder and leader of the iDoctors, a faculty group from the College of Education exploring the iPod ecosystem. In 2007, he was named an Apple Distinguished Educator.
