Smashwords book reviews by Edwin Downward

  • Even Villains Fall in Love on July 09, 2012

The witty opening put me into the mindset of the main character of this story. When his carefully crafted world is torn apart by events he can barely comprehend, much less control, I found myself being dragged down with him, right to the twist ending.
  • Attack of the Lushites on July 09, 2012

An amusingly satirical look at the world of excess and addiction. From burgers to pizza, light beer to cigarellos, nothing is left unscathed.
  • Past Jumper (Future Jumper Series #1) on July 09, 2012

This short presents an intriguing vignette that pulls the reader into to life of its main character as he struggles to understand why things have worked out the way they have and why his efforts to repair what he's done aren't working.
  • Present Jumper (Future Jumper Series #2) on Feb. 05, 2013

This second installment of the Heppner's Jumper series is far more enigmatic than Past Jumper, and leaves me wanting more. If it had been written as a stand-alone piece, it would end there, but Heppner has made the bold move of promising more, and that guarantees I will be acquiring the next segment of his larger story soon.
  • Imago Chronicles: Book One, A Warrior's Tale on May 30, 2013

A grand epic fantasy with sweeping world building and dynamic characters, starting with the most unlikeliest of heros.
  • Wind Jumper (Future Jumper Series #3) on June 03, 2013

Jamie has given us a reality bending third installment of his Jumper series that makes looking at part four, Fire Jumper a must.
  • Fire Jumper (Future Jumper Series #4) on June 11, 2013

Heppner does a fabulous job of showing why this piece is called Fire Jumper.
  • Conspiracy (The Emperor's Edge Book 4) on July 11, 2013

Lindsay has done it again. Kept me on the edge of my seat until the final twist of an ending.
