John Savage

Biography

John F. Savage is professor emeritus at the Lynch School of Education at Boston College, where he taught children's literature for over 30 years. He has written six professional texts, several children's books, and more than a dozen classroom programs. Kristal is his first young adult novel. A popular speaker, Dr. Savage has given workshops all over the United States, in Europe, Asia, and Australia, where he was a Senior Fulbright Scholar. He divides his time between Massachusetts and Florida, where he engages in his passions of golf and reading.

Kristal, a homeless teenager, and Donna, a program assistant in a homeless center, become friends. Kristal faces multiple challenges of living on the streets, but she is helped by Donna.
