Maxine Bigby Cunningham


Biography

Maxine Bigby Cunningham is the Founder and Director of Empowered Walking Enterprise LLC, a publishing and training company dedicated to emotional wellness. The author, free-lance writer, public speaker, and mental health advocate resides in Maryland. She has held Senior Executive positions with the Federal government and management positions with grassroots community organizations.

Cunningham studied at Syracuse University/ Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Administration, Goucher College, the Federal Executive Institute, George Washington University and Baltimore School of the Bible.

Cunningham’s writings and training reflect her understanding that an optimal level of wellness can be achieved; healing is often incremental, sometimes painful but always holistic, engaging body, mind, and spirit. Her mantra is "walking is both a daily experience and a lifetime journey." She enjoys reading, music, theater, and spending time with her family.

In August 2011, Cunningham's book, Power Walking, A Journey to Wholeness, received nominations in two categories for Dan Poynter’s Global EBook Awards.
